As a cafe lover, I’ve sipped lattes in more cafes than I can count (seriously, I lost track after like 30). And while not every cafe offered a great experience, I did stumble upon some really cute ones.

Believe it or not, Portland has quite the range when it comes to cute cafes, from industrial spots to Japanese-themed ones. So don’t freak out if you’re struggling to find a cute spot for a date, I got you! I’ll gladly spill the beans on the cutest cafes in Portland right here! 

And while I may not have the singing chops of Sabrina Carpenter, I do have a keen eye for a good espresso. So trust me when I say these places offer more than just cute interiors – they also serve up great coffee!

Tucked inside Ladd’s Addition, Upper Left Roasters offers a vibe reminiscent of a Bay Area coffee shop. When I needed a change in my routine last summer, I found myself drawn to this cafe, splitting my day between working from home and heading here for the afternoon. 

Their single-origin coffee is among the best in Portland, consistently delivering rich and complex flavors. The spacious interior, with its large windows and airy feel, makes it an ideal spot for getting work done. 

Plus, the outdoor patio offers a relaxing space to enjoy a cup of coffee on a sunny day! 

Upper Left Roasters also excels when it comes to food. They source fresh ingredients from local farmers, including eggs from Trent Family Farms. The seasonal menu is full of delicious options, and you really won’t go wrong with anything you order.

Behind the Museum Cafe serves the best matcha in Portland – if you think you’ve found a better spot, let me know(seriously!). I used to work just five blocks away from this cute cafe and made it a point to visit every chance I got.

I especially enjoy their Japanese treats, like the fig cookie, when I’m craving something sweet. If you’re after a more filling snack, their onigiri is unbeatable (especially the salmon variety!).

In addition to their perfect matcha, they also offer outstanding espresso drinks. They use Extracto Roasters beans, and the smooth flavor really comes through.
