1. Pioneer Place

Address: 700 SW 5th Ave
Contact Details: +15032285800

Pioneer Place has everything you can imagine. If you’re a fan of high-end brands, you’ll definitely love shops like Gucci, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Tiffany & Co. But it does have many casual staples too, like H&M and Forever 21.

If you need a space to relax, there’s the underground food court (aptly called “Roots”), where you can refuel after a quick snack. The whole place is clean and safe, so you can stay for lunch with your fam and the kids.

During holidays, the mall gets festive – you may want to plan your trip during the Christmas season to really enjoy the decorations. There are MAX lines and streetcar stops nearby, so getting there is also no hassle.

2. Washington Square

Contact Details: +15036398860
Price: $$

If you’re looking for a destination packed with stores, you can’t go wrong with Washington Square. The layout makes it easy to wander, as the airiness of the spaces makes it feel less overwhelming than others.

Shopping-wise, it’s hard to beat the place – you’ll find everything from Nordstrom to Macy’s and Sephora. There are also food stops like Cheese Cake and Co., which is just the place you need to get a sugar boost.

If you need more time to relax, the mall also has two coffee spots where you can sit back and people-watch. And if you end up finding yourself a bit lost inside, you can try the mall’s help app to locate shops as you go.

3. Uptown Shopping Center

Address: 9 NW 23rd Pl
Price: $$

Uptown is where you go if you want to get the best out of everything. The star here is Zupan’s Market, where you can find produce, local ingredients, and a hot deli counter for easy meals you can grab on the go.

You’ll also find cozy spots like Cafe Umbria for that perfect cup of coffee after a whole day of shopping. If you want cheap meals to go with your drink, you can find a bento card in front of the meat market, with meals costing around $11.50.

It also has places for services like the European Wax Center and Pharmaca for high-end beauty and wellness products. There are dry cleaners here too, so you can run to the place for some daily errands.

Pro tip: Plan your trip as you can only park for an hour! Even stepping off the lot can result in a costly ticket. Leave and you’ll get ticketed again when you come back – even if your total time is still under an hour.

4. Lloyd Center

Address: 2201 Lloyd Center
Contact Details: +15035288515
Price: $$

Lloyd Center always has something unique, even for the pickiest shopper. There’s an anime shop on the 2nd floor with tons of rare collectibles, as well as a comic book shop to score some of the best-selling and latest releases.

At the center of the mall, there’s a giant indoor ice rink that’s open all year round. Give it a try if you want a bit of fun, though just watching alone gives off a nice burst of energy – it gets holiday lights during the winter for those festive feels too.

Food options are pretty limited, but you can still grab a few snacks to munch on. There’s Stoopid Burger, a popcorn stand, and a few pretzel spots. Just grab any sodas or juice to pair and you’re good to go!

5. Eastport Plaza Shopping Center

Address: 4000 SE 82nd Ave
Price: $$

Eastport packs a lot of variety for a big shopping center. There’s Hong Phat Market, a massive Asian grocery store where you can find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to hot, prepared food to go.

For quick errands, shoppers often stop by the Dollar Tree or Ross Dress for Less for affordable buys. There’s even a USPS branch here, so mailing is super easy and convenient.

The major draw here is the Century Eastport 16 theater. I love that the tickets are affordable, so you can basically drag your friends to a late evening show. The reclining seats are a huge plus, and it’s never too packed, even in the peak summer season.

6. Jantzen Beach Center

Address: 1405 Jantzen Beach Center
Contact Details: +18338004343
Price: $

Jantzen has all the staple stores you can think of. Locals often pop in at the Target here to check out the clearance section for good deals. The same thing goes for Ross, where customers can find great boys for cheap.

What’s great here is the shopping experience – the walkways are wide, so you can easily drag big carts to every aisle. It’s also clean, and surprisingly, there’s rarely any long lines at the counters – unless there are sales, of course!

There’s plenty of parking and easy access off I-5 for convenience. For those quiet, no-rush shopping on weekday afternoons, this is definitely a great stop.

7. Hillsdale Shopping Center

Website: https://www.hillsdalepdx.com/
Address: 6309 SW Capitol Hwy
Price: $$

If you’re looking for a cozy neighborhood shopping spot, Hillsdale has it all packed into one hillside strip. Everything is walkable – one minute, you’re grabbing food at Bake & Spice. Next, you’re checking out comics at Other Worlds Games.

The food options here are seriously impressive too – some of the best pies are from The Cakery, while the best deli sandwiches are at the Basics Market. If you want that hit of warm chicken noodle soup, Food Front Co-op is the place to go.

The center also nails convenience. There’s a pharmacy, UPS store, laundromat, and a dry cleaner – basically everything for a productive weekend errand run.

Plus, the whole vibe is vintage and local, making it all feel like a neighborhood rather than a line of businesses.

8. Morgan’s Alley

Address: 515 SW Broadway, Portland
Price: $$

Morgan’s Alley has all the quirks you’ll love in a shopping space. Right on the corner, there’s St. Honore Bakery where you can enjoy croissants and tarts with a nice cup of hot chocolate.

If you’re into photography like me, you’ll love Shutterbug too, a camera shop where you can score gear for a fair price. Upstairs, you’ll find restaurants like Tercet, ideal for those quiet and intimate moments in between shopping.

There’s a quirky, vintage charm to the place. Even if you’re not leaving with anything, I think you’ll enjoy just going for a stroll. It’s peaceful and spacious too – you can bring the kids along if you want to burn some energy.

Pro tip: Come as early as possible because some shops close early, especially the food places. Take note that you might not be able to use the restrooms too, if you’re not a customer of the store.

9. Cedar Hills Shopping Center

Address: 10180 SW Park Way
Contact Details: +15032927644
Price: $$

At Cedar Hills, Harbor Freight is a real star. Seriously – if you’re into tools or just like browsing weirdly useful gadgets, the place is a treasure hunt. You can find anything from ammo boxes to $3 mask packs.

If you get hungry, head straight to 808 Grinds. I love this for their range of comfort Hawaiian food – all come in generous portions and fast service. There’s even outdoor seating, which I find is a great place to hang out.

The strip mall is a little dated, so if you’re simply shopping, you may not get the most out of the experience. Fortunately, there’s Coach’s Bar, which is also a great gem if you want to score some beef and burger deals on a Wednesday.

It also has pool tables in case you want a quick game!

10. Gateway Shopping Center

Media credit gatewayshoppingcenter

Website: http://www.pactrust.com/
Address: 9924 NE Halsey St
Contact Details: +15036246300
Price: $

Gateway has everything you’ll want in a shopping spot – it’s massive, well-stocked, and surprisingly clean, considering how busy it is every day. It has a wide range of groceries and produce – plus, it’s right off the MAX line.

WinCo is another highlight here, and a big reason locals keep coming back. It’s budget-friendly, with a huge selection of Indian spices. The prices are hard to beat, so it’s best to come here if you’re stocking up for the week.

The shopping center isn’t perfect, though, as the atmosphere can feel a bit rough around the edges. But it’s easy to navigate, there’s plenty of parking, and the security is always visible.

Simply put, for the essentials, this is the place to go.

11. Cascade Station

Address: 9721-10243, NE Cascades Pkwy
Contact Details: +15034779381
Price: $$

Cascade is one of my favorite places to shop, especially because it’s just five minutes from the airport. It’s easy to score deals on clothes, shoes, and accessories – that’s thanks to stores like Marshall’s, Ross, and Nordstrom.

There are also great places to eat. For a quick meal, you can drop by fast food joints like Wendy’s or a sit-down resto like Red Robin. If you have plenty of time to kill, head over to Parkstone Smokehouse & Taps for some barbecue.

Just take note: getting out of the parking lot here is a lot of pain, especially on weekends or during the holidays. It’s best to arrive early or keep a list of things you’ll get, so you can get them all in one trip.
