Lilac Garden is a small gem that is home to over 100 different types of lilacs, including the striking Japanese Tree Lilac.
Originally planted in 1935, the garden was a generous donation from a Portland Garden Club member who purchased B.O. Case’s lilac collection. Case was a nurseryman in SW Washington known for his significant variety of lilacs.
Since then, the garden has been carefully maintained. Now, it’s one of the best spots to see in the neighborhood.
The lilacs begin to bloom in early spring and continue through late June. If you want to make the most out of your visit, just schedule your visit during the springtime.
Apart from lilacs, they also have under-plantings of seasonal flowers. So, even if you’re not in the area in spring, you can still enjoy looking through other types of plants and flowers that are currently in bloom.
