For parents, PlayDate PDX has comfortable seating areas to dine and unwind while keeping a watchful eye on their little ones. Not only that, parents can also join their kids in the various play structures at no extra cost.

All of this comes at reasonable daily rates: $4 for kids aged 3 and under and $8 for those aged 4 and up on weekdays.

We think the folks who run this place really care about kids, seeing how kid-safe the place is. They’ve even set up a special area just for tiny tots under 2.

Additionally, private play sessions are available to ensure a more personalized experience. 

Oh, and while the little ones play, parents can unwind at the Wiggle Room, complete with complimentary Wi-Fi, an espresso bar, and a selection of draft beers. Just a heads-up: entry here costs $11.

On top of that, the place won’t cost you a thing – perfect if you’re a bit tight on cash but still want to give your kids a good time. Parents can chill in comfy seating around the play zones, and there’s even a safe enclosed area away from all the noise and chaos.

Nest Playground

Nest Playground might be a smaller facility, but it offers a fun and secure space for the whole family, especially for the kiddos. 

They focus on creating experiences that encourage exercise and movement, featuring a large play area for kids, a soft play structure, and a climbing wall. There’s also a game room with ping pong and foosball tables, a yoga/dance studio, and a ninja frame obstacle course. 

The drop-in play fee is $12 per child. 

Just a heads up, though: they don’t allow outside food or drinks. Luckily for us, there’s a rad café inside where everyone can grab a snack after the kids have worn themselves out playing.

This awesome natural play space is a chill spot for your kid to have a blast and learn cool stuff. Instead of boring playground gear, Playforest matches kids up with loose parts and open areas to let their imagination rip. 

Children can build forts, spin wild stories, and just let loose, making this indoor play area perfect for little explorers. There are also spots for babies and toddlers, plus bigger zones for older kids to roam and climb safely.

Pilea Play is another awesome spot for young kids in Portland. It’s mainly geared toward 0 to 6-year-olds, but older kids are also welcome if they’re cool with playing gently around the little ones.

Your kids will have a blast here because there’s so much to do. They can dive into imaginative play, build with trains, get artsy, and explore tiny worlds – something to pique every child’s interest.

Not just a fun and educational spot, Pilea Play also hosts playgroups, special events (including awesome kiddie concerts!), and offers private rentals.

This means that if your kids had a blast playing here (and who wouldn’t?), you have the option to arrange your own private gatherings or events at their space.

Kowabunga Indoor Playspace

Unlike larger, bustling play areas, Kowabunga offers a quieter and more intimate atmosphere, which is perfect for toddlers who might feel overwhelmed in larger settings.

They have a bunch of cool stuff to spark creativity and let kids play on their own, such as wooden blocks, puzzles, dress-up gear, and sensory bins. 

Plus, after all that fun, your kids can refuel with some healthy snacks and drinks available for a separate fee (not included in the admission).

However, keep in mind that only one adult is admitted free with each paid child admission. At least parents can totally chill, sip on some coffee, or catch up on emails while keeping an eye on their kids having a blast nearby.

Indoor Play Park at Cedar Hills Recreation Center

The Cedar Hills Recreation Center has a cool seasonal indoor play park where kids can get their play on! They have loads of toys and stuff for newborns up to 6-year-olds. 

It’s a safe and spacious spot for kids to hang out, make friends, and work on their motor skills. At the play park, you can expect to find climbing structures, slides, tunnels, ball pits, and plenty of toys for kids to enjoy.

The thing is, they don’t have a fixed schedule for these indoor play seasons. As of the latest update, the play gym is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the fall, winter, and spring. But heads up, this year it’s closing for the summer so check it out before that time!

Indoor Playground at Mittleman Jewish Community Center Sportsplex

Bring your kids over to the Mittleman Jewish Community Center’s climate-controlled Sportsplex for some indoor fun! This awesome playground is perfect for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 6 months to 5 years).

There’s a bunch of cool toys and stuff here to play with, including a trampoline and gymnastics gear, which kids can enjoy all day under adult supervision.

Additionally, they have this thing called the Chai Baby Indoor Playground that opens up once a month (every first Thursday). It’s free for parents/caregivers and their kids up to 5 years old. 

Here, children can play, meet friends, run around, have snacks, sing, and listen to stories. If this particular indoor activity interests you, make sure to plan your visit for that day!

The Children’s Gym

At the Children’s Gym, kids from crawling ages up to 13 are welcome to join their open gym whenever they hold one! During these times, kids can freely enjoy all the cool stuff in the gym including balance beams, bars, swings, trampolines, mats, and climbing structures. 

Plus, they put up a special soft play area just for younger kids with soft climbers, slides, and ball pits for some safe and fun playtime.

Friendly reminder that the Children’s open gym can fill up fast because there’s a limit to how many can join. So, make sure to sign your kids up ahead of time for the day you want to bring them.

Northeast Swap and Play

Instead of donating directly, you can browse the area and take what your family needs. It’s a give-and-take system that works for everyone’s convenience.

As for their play area, they have a dramatic play section, a cozy reading corner, climbing structures, a Lego table, and much more. And let’s not forget the wide array of toys available to keep your little ones entertained for hours.

St. Johns Swapnplay

Happy Place feels like a hidden magical spot covered in fluffy grass turf. It features a sturdy central play structure with stairs, slides and acrylic windows – there are even surprises like a lacing wall and ball run!

Additionally, the picnic-style tables, which are a favorite among visitors, provide plenty of space for snacks, reading books, and activities.

Parents can also enjoy watching their kids play here, as WiFi is available for those who need to catch up on work. The best part? There’s no time limit for play. However, once kids leave the play space, re-entry is not allowed.

For parents who want their little ones to play with kids their own age, don’t worry – Raindrops Playhouse has a separate area just for toddlers. By the way, parents can bring their own snacks and drinks for their kids since there’s no eatery inside the facility.

Quick note: Raindrops Playhouse doesn’t restrict playtime, but they don’t allow re-entry once you leave.
