In this article, we’ll take you on a fun and exciting journey to discover the top things to do in this area!
1. Get in touch with spirituality at Dragon Herbarium
WEBSITE: https://dragonherbarium.com
ADDRESS: 4638 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, Portland, OR
CONTACT DETAILS: +1 503-244-7049
OPERATING HOURS: Monday – Saturday 11AM – 7 PM; Sunday Closed
At the Dragon Herbarium, they offer several products that are good for the body, soul, and mind.
If your beliefs are leaning towards the spiritual or new age side, you’ll want to spend your entire day here looking at crystals (raw, tumbled, in jewelry – you name it!) and different tinctures.
Each variation of their tinctures targets different things. For example, their tulsi basil tincture helps nourish the spiritual and physical heart whereas their ashwagandha tincture helps with strength and stamina, focus, and more.
However, we believe you’ll still enjoy your time looking around this shop even if you don’t subscribe to these beliefs.
They also sell herbs & spices, organic tea, essential oils, and more. They have quite a collection too!!
Pro tip:
While you can easily browse and purchase from their website, we suggest dropping by their physical store if you have the chance. Their staff are very knowledgeable and can give you specific suggestions for stuff.
For example, we’d never have discovered some of their more interesting tea blends without their guidance. Who knew there was a “love tea” made of lemongrass, horny goat weed, raspberry leaf, nettle, rose hips, yohimbe, pine pollen, maca, hibiscus, and stevia?
2. Check out the audio equipment at Echo Audio
WEBSITE: https://echohifi.com
ADDRESS: 5904 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, Portland
CONTACT DETAILS: +1 888-248-3246
OPERATING HOURS: Sunday – Wednesday Closed; Thursday – Saturday 12 PM – 5 PM
This is a little niche in that it’s really for people who like audio gear, so feel free to skip to our next suggestion if that’s not you.
If it’s you, on the other hand, you should know that Echo Audio is a hip electronic store that sells both used and new audio equipment. This includes speakers, turntables, headphones, and the like – and most things are priced pretty nicely, especially the used stuff.
Pro tip:
You can message them if there’s anything in particular you’re looking for and they’ll find it for you! Also, if you have any kind of audio equipment that is already building up dust, they can get them off your hands and give you a reasonable price for it.
3. Treat yourself to some delicious grub at Steeplejack Pizza and Beer
WEBSITE: https://www.steeplejackbeer.com
ADDRESS: 4439 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, Portland, OR
CONTACT DETAILS: +1 503-719-6241
OPERATING HOURS: Monday – Sunday 3 PM – 9 PM
If you’re on the hunt for delicious dishes that would fill you up, Steeplejack Pizza and Beer will make you hit the spot!
They offer an assortment of pizza flavors like white pie (white sauce, wild mushroom blend, herbs, garlic confit, shallots, and garlic oil) and midnight kiss (ezzo pepperoni, house-made sausage, canadian bacon, jalapeños, shallots, chives, calabrian honey drizzle, and parmesan).
They also have the classic flavors like margherita, pepperoni, and cheese. All of their pizzas are hand-tossed by the way.
They also offer other shareable dishes like hot wings, meatballs in marinara, and such. And they have numerous beer and beverage options. After all, they also have their own brewery!
Pro tip:
Since it’s easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of beer options, ask their staff what they could recommend based on your tastes and they’ll have the perfect recommendation. Be sure to ask about the seasonal flavors as well!
4. Grab some homemade food at 45th Street Bar and Grill

Another pub that is worth a try is the 45th Street Bar and Grill. It’s quite famous among the locals, especially to those who frequent the Bridlemile neighborhood.
While people love them for their selections of homemade food, we also find them worthy to be recommended because of the fun activities you can do at this bar.
They have karaoke, live poker (Tuesdays to Sundays), and video lottery! We come here for delicious food and the lively atmosphere.
Another plus is that the drinks are pretty cheap compared to other places in the city!
Pro tip:
We highly recommend that you try out any of their burgers. Most people who have been here have it as their top dish as well from 4th Street Bar and Grill.

A lot of people rave about this Mexican place. It’s not just the locals though! We also see visitors loving their experience here.
Anyway, they have numerous options for you to try. Under their Mexican plates, they have dishes such as all meat burrito, pollo special (with fries and salad), carne asada (rice, beans, salad, tortilla chips, and salsa), and many many more.
Pro tip:
We also recommend their chicken salad, which is also one of the best sellers. We also think you shouldn’t miss out on their chile relleno (rice, beans, salad, tortilla chips, and salsa). They serve hefty portions of it and you’d be surprised!

OPERATING HOURS: Sunday – Tuesday Closed; Wednesday – Saturday 11 AM – 7:30 PM
Tito’s Taquito is another Mexican restaurant in the Bridlemile neighborhood. They don’t have a lot of taquitos and tacos options, but we kind of like that about them (you’re not overwhelmed by the choices).
You can choose the protein for your tacos and taquitos. Aside from those, they also have desserts and drinks.
Pro tip:
We highly recommend their braised beef taquitos. Most of us the staff here at Rip City Reviews couldn’t get enough of it!

Dutch Bros Coffee has several chains all over the U.S. so you’ve probably heard of it too. If you haven’t tried their stuff before, they have classic flavors like cold brew, americano, and chai.
However, they also have more exciting flavors like banana cream pie, jelly donut, and tiger’s blood (strawberry and coconut).
Pro tip:
You can go through their drive-through to order their delicious drinks!
8. Indulge in delicious Thai dishes at Pepper Tree Thai Cuisine

Pepper Tree is one of your favorite authentic Thai restaurants in Portland. Each dish has generous portions, but since they’re so delicious, don’t be surprised if you want more!
Anyway, they have numerous options in their menu, so feel free to go crazy.
If this is your first time trying out Thai cuisine, they have beginner-friendly options such as lemongrass chicken, yellow curry, and Thai BBQ chicken.
They also serve famous Thai dishes like pad thai, mango sticky rice, and tom yum. If you’re looking for less filling meals, they also have spring rolls, chicken teriyaki meatballs, and salad rolls.
Pro tip:
We recommend everything on their dessert menu, especially the mango sticky rice! If you haven’t tried it yet, Pepper Tree is the perfect place to try it for the first time.
9. Watch sports games at Clubhouse Bar & Grill

Sports fans would easily find themselves loving the Clubhouse Bar & Grill.
After all, it’s a sports bar where you can watch the games in HD from 18 of their TV screens. You can also indulge in several activities here like lottery games so make sure to bring your friends with you if you’re dropping by here!
Pro tip:
If you’re looking for a hearty meal, we suggest getting their Rip City sandwich (french dip with nacho cheese & bacon) or the ultimate clubhouse!
10. Play tennis at the Portland Athletic Club

While you’re in Portland, you can be sure that you’ll never run out of parks to visit. Albert Kelly Park is one of the parks in Bridlemile – and also the biggest one!
Its 12.09 acres space wouldn’t rival the more famous parks in the city, but it’s still worth a visit. Note that there are several convenient amenities here like picnic tables, playground, and even a soccer field that you can reserve!
Pro tip:
Whenever we find ourselves at Albert Kelly Park, we like heading over to Gigi’s Cafe after. It’s a quick 3-minute ride, so it’s not that out of the way.
It’s quite a popular spot, so even locals know and love it. They’re quite known for their waffles – the waffle breakfast sandwich being one of the best sellers. With it, you get two mini waffles, cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, and a choice of meat (sausage or bacon).
