5 Top Yoga Studios in Portland That’ll Have You Bending and Bragging

  • Instruction: We looked for studios with certified instructors who offer clear, safe, and inspiring guidance for all skill levels. A variety of class styles and consistent quality of teaching were also considered.
  • Accessibility: Yoga is an integral part of many people’s daily routines. Studios were evaluated based on their location, parking availability, class schedule flexibility, and the availability of online classes to ensure accessibility for everyone.
  • Value for Money: Affordability matters, but so does the overall experience. We assessed whether pricing was fair based on the quality of instruction, class variety, and any special deals that make a top-tier yoga experience.
  • Support and Engagement: We paid attention to how studios engage with their community. This includes clear communication with inquiries, responsiveness to students, and a welcoming atmosphere that supports individual needs.

When practicing yoga, part of the journey is connecting with your soul—and after trying a few sessions and chatting with fellow students, we knew YoYoYogi Yoga Studio had to be part of this list.

It might sound a little advanced for beginners, but many said they felt incredibly welcomed from day one. New students can take advantage of a two-week unlimited yoga pass for $39, which is a great way to explore different classes and instructors without pressure.

We were genuinely impressed by the variety of offerings. We tried their hot yoga, which left us feeling more flexible and detoxified than ever.

Their signature “Soul Shakin’ Yoga” classes are especially popular. Beyond that, they also have guided meditations, breathwork, and sound healing.

If you’re looking to dive deeper, YoYoYogi also hosts workshops, astrology-infused yoga sessions, and even destination retreats (like their upcoming one in Panama!). They also offer teacher training programs for both 200-hour and 300-hour levels.

We loved the space—beautiful wood floors, brick walls, and an inviting atmosphere. Even so, one customer shared their disappointment after three visits. The studio lacked heating, making the experience somewhat unpleasant.

The studio apologized and explained the heat issue was fixed. It’s great to see the studio offering a solution, though it’s unfortunate that the experience didn’t meet expectations in the first place.

Pros

  • Offers a variety of classes
  • Provides an intro offer
  • Hosts additional services (workshops, retreats, etc)
  • Offers teacher training programs
  • Features appealing studio space
  • Provides access to a virtual platform with 300+ classes and meditations

Cons

  • Occasional issues with the heating system

The entire team is incredibly supportive!

“Walking into YoYoYogi was such a wonderful experience—I was greeted with the most authentic and warm welcome, and I immediately felt at home. The entire team is incredibly supportive, but Angela truly stands out. She has been so amazing and went above and beyond to help me navigate some personal hurdles. When you think of a true yogi, Angela embodies it perfectly. Her kindness, guidance, and genuine spirit are out of this world. Namaste 🙏🏻”

    What a variety of classes.

“I’m new to the studio and trying it out for a couple of weeks. Wow!  What a variety of classes.  And all of the staff have been incredibly friendly, welcoming and always encourage us to meet our bodies where they are that day. There’s even a more meditative style class on Sunday evenings that put me into a more restful state than I’ve experienced in years!!!  Loving this hidden gem of a studio.”

Yoga is often pictured as peaceful and calming. However, that’s not entirely the case at YogaSix Slabtown. From what regulars shared with us, one of the studio’s strongest points is its fun, energizing vibe.

They offer six core yoga experiences. We heard great things about Y6 Slow Flow and Y6 Restore from those who love more relaxed sessions. Meanwhile, Y6 Hot and Y6 Sculpt & Flow are ideal if you’re after something more intense.

We tried Y6 TRX, which blends yoga with strength training using a full TRX wall mount system. It gave us a solid feel for all six of their signature class styles.

One thing we really appreciated was how inclusive the studio felt. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned yogi, the instructors are supportive and welcoming. It’s clear they focus on creating a space where anyone can thrive, no matter their experience level.

The studio has a modern, upbeat atmosphere with mood lighting that adds to the experience. They also offer thoughtful touches like cold eucalyptus towels at the end of the class—something we absolutely loved.

Their ClassPoints™ system is a nice bonus: you earn points for attending classes that can lead to rewards, including free sessions.

That said, some customers complained about experiencing persistent sales pressure despite opting out multiple times. It ultimately affected their impression of the studio.

Communication is a big part of feeling supported, and we hope the studio takes complaints like this seriously and fine-tunes its approach.

    Pros

    • Offers a variety of class experiences
    • Promotes an inclusive and supportive environment
    • Features a modern studio with an upbeat vibe
    • Provides cold eucalyptus towels after class
    • Rewards attendance through ClassPoints™
    • Cater to both intense and relaxed yoga preferences

    Cons

    • A few reports of persistent sales tactic

They helped me through each trimester of my pregnancy!

“Extremely inviting and excellent classes! All the instructors know how to create and maintain a vibe for each specific class. Colleen’s restore class is especially restorative and helped me through each trimester of my pregnancy. Cannot recommend enough!”

      Lauren Woods, Google Review

I enjoyed the challenge in the right way.

“My first visit to Yoga Six Slabtown was such a wonderful experience. The studio is conveniently located, clean, and welcoming. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The studio temperature os perfectly warm, the instructor was knowledgeable and inclusive, giving several levels of modifications. I enjoyed the Slow Flow class, challenging in the right way but not difficult. I hope to return soon to check out some of their other offerings.”

Yoga poses can definitely feel awkward at first, especially when you’re worried about people watching. But honestly, we never felt that way at Seeking Space Yoga and many shared the same feeling.

The studio is inclusive and embraces all body types, backgrounds, and identities. A few folks even mentioned how the instructors encouraged them to listen to their bodies instead of chasing some ideal yoga look, and we really appreciated that.

We tried a couple of classes ourselves. It was our first time doing Aerial Yoga, and to our surprise, it felt liberating and fun.

The best part is their classes are accessible to both beginners and experienced yogis. So even if Power Vinyasa or Hatha Yoga sound intense, there’s no need to worry.

They’re also big on helping yogis grow through workshops and teacher training. Their Chair Yoga Teacher Training is great at making yoga accessible to all bodies and abilities, showing that anyone can now practice yoga using a simple chair and at their own pace.

It was honestly nice being there. The whole experience centers around mindfulness and creates a space where you can really feel comfortable exploring your practice.

On top of that, the studio also hosts special events and retreats for something to enjoy beyond regular classes.

That said, while the classes were both challenging and inspiring, we did hear a few comments about the space itself. It gives off great energy, but some folks mentioned they would love a little more room to move around.

Also, classes tend to fill up quickly. Booking a few days in advance is almost necessary, which can be a bit tricky for those with hectic schedules.

      Pros

      • Inclusive environment
      • Variety of classes (heated and unheated)
      • Accessible to beginners and advanced yogis
      • Emphasis on mindfulness
      • Offer specialized programs (e.g. Chair Yoga Teacher Training)
      • Features special events and retreats

      Cons

      • Limited space
      • Requires advanced booking due to popularity

        What a beautiful experience!

“Wow! What a beautiful experience. Dana brought so much care and balance to the class. It was both energizing and releasing. I’m a yoga teacher who likes to try a lot of different teachers to stay fresh and her class went above and beyond. Highly recommend!”

        Heidi Beaver, Google Review

A welcoming space for all skill levels and body types.

“I’ve been coming to Seeking Space Yoga for years and I love it. It’s a welcoming space for folks of all skill levels and body types. There are many styles of classes and the teachers are phenomenal. Rachel, the owner, has opened a sister studio called Yin Yoga Space and it’s wonderful too!”

Doing something with someone close to you always makes the experience more enjoyable—and that’s exactly how we felt at Firelight Yoga. Practicing wellness in a space that’s inclusive and welcoming, especially with familiar faces, made it feel even more special.

We appreciated their Free Community BIPOC Yoga Class and Free Queer & Trans Yoga Class. These offers create safe, affirming spaces where everyone can show up as themselves.

One of our friends tried the BIPOC class and said she loved being in a room that felt truly comfortable and fun with her community.

We also gave Hot FLY a try, and it was such a great workout. The heated room helped us go deeper into each pose, and the flow kept us energized all throughout. It’s the mix of strength and movement, with some music that kept us motivated and focused.

Small touches like the cool eucalyptus towels at the end of class might seem minor, but they really elevate the experience and leave you feeling refreshed. The studio striked a great balance between challenging movement and the comfort of community.

However, some people have found the strict late arrival policy frustrating. One customer shared that they were denied entry just two minutes late due to parking issues, and felt the policy lacked flexibility compared to other studios that offer a grace period.

        Pros

        • Inclusive and welcoming atmosphere
        • Specialized community classes (Free BIPOC and Queer & Trans yoga)
        • Convenient amenities (eucalyptus towels, showers, etc.)
        • Variety of classes

        Cons

        • Strict no-late policy
        • Limited parking

Many different styles of yoga offered.

“Such a wonderful yoga studio. Great classes. Teachers are engaged and kind and there are many different styles of yoga offered throughout the day. Genuinely friendly and inclusive environment.”

          Rachel Sontag, Google Review

The classes are nicely varied and inclusive.

“I’ve been going to this studio for a few months now. Teachers are exceptional. The classes are nicely varied and inclusive. You can get into a groove with a hot practice or take a more calming, restorative class in the unheated room. They also have sculpting classes for an extra strengthening push. The studio is very clean and spacious. Highly recommend.”

Wellness isn’t always accessible. Between expensive studio memberships and fancy gear, many people who want to take care of their bodies and minds feel like they just can’t afford to. That’s where The People’s Yoga in Portland truly stands out.

This studio was built on the belief that yoga and wellness should be for everyone—not just those with extra time or income. We were able to enjoy their flexible drop-ins and a scholarship program to ensure that the cost doesn’t keep anyone from accessing the benefits of yoga.

With a wide array of class offerings, there’s something for everyone. From restorative yoga for stress and pain relief to vinyasa flow, you’ll find a class that fits your needs.

We joined Asana skill development online, and it’s so easy to practice in a way that works best for you.

What really impresses us is their range of events and workshops. They go beyond the usual yoga sessions, offering seasonal gatherings and in-depth explorations of topics like Anahata Chakra: Blossoming the Heart, and Radiant Summer: Ayurvedic Secrets for Seasonal Wellness.

These unique events are an awesome way to connect with your practice from a whole new perspective.

If you find inspiration in your practice and feel called to guide others, TPY also offers teacher training, including exciting courses like Treasures of Engagement and more. It’s the perfect space to deepen your practice and empower yourself—and others—through teaching.

That said, one student felt unwelcomed at the studio for arriving late. The lack of music and mirrors may also make the classes feel rigid, which may not suit those who prefer a more relaxed, sensory-friendly environment.

          Pros

          • Welcomes students from all backgrounds and levels
          • Offers drop-in options and a scholarship program
          • Available both in-studio and online
          • Hosts seasonal gatherings and special workshops
          • Provides in-depth teacher training programs

          Cons

          • A few reports of unfriendly approach
          • Not ideal for those who are motivated by interactive features

A welcoming space with skilled and helpful teachers.

“Exactly what a yoga studio should be: a welcoming space with skilled and helpful teachers. They offer a variety of classes – vinyasa and hatha flows as well as more restful options like yin and restorative. They are frequently putting on workshops, the ones I’ve done have felt like a good value. I’ve noticed that people of all ages/genders/races are often in attendance which is a sign of a good place imo. Very affordable compared to other studios in town, I highly recommend.”

            Sara M, Google Review

The studio was beautiful and it was so easy to drop in!

“Was in town visiting and went to a noon all levels Hatha yoga class with Jenna Darfler. The class was great! The studio was beautiful and it was so easy to drop in by booking through MindBody.  Also appreciate the affordability of dropping in for 1 class. Highly recommend this studio and hope to return on future trips. Parking was easy to find and they also have mats you can borrow.”
