Auto collision repair is stressful enough, and dealing with insurance can make it even worse. That’s why we were impressed by Professional Auto Body & Paint Inc., whose strong local reputation is backed by the positive feedback we’ve received from multiple people.

What impressed us the most was their commitment to using OEM parts. One customer was told upfront that the repair would take longer due to difficulty in sourcing OEM parts but appreciated the honesty. It’s clear they don’t cut corners just to get the job done faster. 

Another customer mentioned how the shop made sure to get official Honda parts instead of the aftermarket ones the insurer recommended, which is something we really respect. Not every shop will fight for that level of quality.

We also thought it was cool how they handled totaled cars. Several people shared how the team not only helped with the paperwork and rental cars but also offered advice on getting a new vehicle. That kind of support goes a long way, especially when you’re overwhelmed. 

However, one customer wasn’t as pleased after being quoted $13,700, while their insurance estimate was only $4,857 (which was later done elsewhere for $2,576).

They were also charged $3,700 for storage and admin fees, among other costs. They found this to be very excessive, especially after discovering a much more affordable repair option.

Car repairs can get so expensive that even with full coverage insurance, you’re still stuck paying a deductible. That’s what led us to include ACP Auto Body Collision Repair on our list. They’re known for helping with costs and delivering cars that look nearly brand new. 

We love how they helped one client who couldn’t afford her $500 deductible and handled extra repairs at no additional cost, which we think really shows their willingness to ease the burden on customers. 

Our favorite part is the consistent praise about cars looking brand new. A Hyundai Venue owner said the results were nearly flawless. It’s reassuring to know they go the extra mile to make sure your car looks as good as new. 

On top of that, they are highly regarded for their excellent communication. They provide weekly updates to customers, ensuring they know exactly what’s happening with their vehicle.

Many clients we talked to also appreciated that ACP handles all the talk with the insurance. This helps take a huge load out of their shoulders.

That said, there have been reports of long turnaround times. Some customers said it took months for the repair to be done.

West Hills Collision Center caught our attention because of how thorough they are with estimates. Not only that, they actually stick to their quotes, and get the job on time. 

They really step up their game with the tech they use. From CCC ONE for digital estimates and Standox paint systems to the Chief EZ Liner frame machine with Genesis laser measuring— everything’s super precise!

Another thing that stood out to us is how eco-conscious they are. They recycle, use wind power, and even support the OSU Solar Car Project. That might not be the first thing on your mind after a fender bender, but it says a lot, especially if you’ve got an electric or hybrid vehicle. 

Honestly, it’s refreshing to see a shop that not only does great work but also cares about the bigger picture. We’d feel good sending people their way. 

However, some customers we talked to were not happy with the shop’s communication. Repair sometimes drags on because of the company’s slow responses and the occasional error in the reports about missing parts.

Bumpers usually take the hit in most accidents, and drivers are pretty impressed with how Caliber Collision handles these raptors. Their I-CAR certified team takes care of everything from bumper fixes to paintless dent removal and auto glass repairs.

One BMW owner was especially pleased. Not only did they flawlessly repair the bumper damage, but they also went the extra mile to fix an unrelated issue on the other side. 

We are impressed by their honest consultations and the genuine care they provide. 

Truck owners had good things to say too. One Chevrolet Silverado driver, despite some delays, really appreciated that Caliber delivered the truck straight to his doorstep. It’s clear they care about making the whole process as easy as possible. 

What really stood out to us is how they make things easier by being a pre-approved partner of major insurance companies like State Farm, GEICO, and USAA. You don’t have to deal with the usual back and forth for approvals. Everything from estimate to repair just flows a lot smoother. 

That said, one customer shared a frustrating experience where their appointment was canceled because of a mix-up. On top of that, the rental car place didn’t have a full-sized truck ready, even though they had been given plenty of notice. 

Hopefully, Caliber will be more consistent with its quality service going forward.

It’s always a hassle when your car’s in the shop, but Fix Auto Portland East makes it a little easier with their smooth rental process. A lot of their customers appreciate the convenience of picking up and dropping off rental cars right from the shop. 

Fix Auto stands out to us for how well they keep the customers in the loop throughput process, especially while their cars are being repaired. 

The team gets a lot of praise for their hassle-free repairs too. One driver appreciated how quick, friendly, and communicative the team was when fixing a mirror after a hit-and-run. Even a minor issue with the mirror camera was promptly fixed at no extra charge. 

We also love how they handled the totaled cars. A Toyota Camry owner thanks Fix Auto for helping them secure a better deal on a total-loss insurance claim and keep the car. They replaced the mirror at a fair price, which earned them customer loyalty. 

They’re also pretty eco-conscious. They use recycled parts and low-VOC paints. They even reduce paper and hazardous waste. It’s great to see a repair shop focused on sustainability. 

However, there was one complaint about a leaky rear window install that led to mold and slow response time from the shop. Hopefully, that’s something they can address and improve on.
