Pros
- Streamlined workflows and robust system
- Licensed tax professionals
- Transparent pricing (2% of each sale goes to a charity of your choice)
- Flexible bill pay options for tax preparation
- Complimentary consultation outside tax season
Cons
- Inconsistencies with communications
- Limited scheduled time for consultations
If it’s an excellent accounting service you’re looking for, you may want to check out Go Green Tax. Well, we simply see their streamlined workflows and their robust system as an edge to keep track of your accounts.
The most important thing of all, you’ll undoubtedly be working with licensed tax professionals every step of the way. This only means that you can experience a hassle-free filing process with them, as well as ensure optimal return outcomes.
Now, we like that their tax prep appointments are designed for separate business entities and that there’s a separate arrangement for taxpayers with self-employment income. We only suggest having your book professionally prepared for what’s to come.
Additionally, we’re pleased to know that they’re transparent when it comes to pricing, at least according to most of their clients. Just so you know, they charge at a flat rate based on the complexity of their client’s case.
The only downside we’ve heard of is mainly about the poor communication they have with their clients, most specifically in returning calls. This, for us, is a major turn off seeing that we truly want you to work with open accountants.
Fortunately, we find them very generous outside of tax season since they offer a complimentary consultation to some prospective clients. It’s just that it has a limited scheduled time, which is 20 minutes, but if deemed important, they’re willing to put you on the clock.

Pros
- Longtime member of the American Institute of CPAs and Oregon Society of CPAs
- Wide range of accounting services
- Specializes in handling accounting services to local business owners
- Provides complimentary services
- No charge for quick 5 to 10 minute answers
- Provides written quoted fees at first
Cons
- Poor notes regarding slow work
Garland Taylor CPA, PC made it to our list simply because they do offer a wide range of accounting services. From everything related to tax and financial statements to monthly bookkeeping, they have it whenever you need it.
To begin with, this is a longtime member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Oregon Society of CPAs. Well, we also would like to inform you of their over 20 years of experience, so you’ll truly be with a skilled CPA firm.
On top of that, they specialize in handling accounting services for local business owners. However, in some cases, they do accommodate individual taxpayers which also will be receiving the same attention to detail as their usual clientele.
At some point, they do give their clients complimentary services (free newsletters and planners), one thing that we like. Not to mention the free charge they offer for quick 5 to 10-minute answers which is a pretty neat deal.
However, regardless of the expertise and knowledge they provide, we’ve heard of some poor notes regarding the slow work they deliver. This, in our opinion, is forgivable given that their service is being catered to on a one-on-one basis by an experienced CPA.
Finally, when it comes to the fees, the firm’s rate ranges depending on any complexities or tax issues. The good thing is you can expect a written quoted fee before the work starts, so the fees are very transparent.

Pros
- Six decades of experience in the accounting industry
- Internationally recognized as CPA practice continuation planning experts
- Research assistance, technical advisers (free of charge under their continuing professional education programs)
- Served a broad range of industries
Cons
- Minor inconsistencies with their service
It’s the “No Strings Attached” standby agreement of Isler Northwest LLC that made us want you to consider them. Well, this and other interesting things about them is why we really think you deserve their service.
First things first, they have been in the accounting industry since 1961. This alone gives us an impression of the depth of their experience and expertise – ideal enough to reach your ultimate goal in the financing world.
Now, the thing with the standby agreement they offer their clients is that your business stays intact and the income continues in the event that you’re not around. This obviously is a plus point in our book, and it can also be canceled anytime you want, so it’s still your call.
Plus, they can help you with a lot of accounting services (international/domestic taxes, financial reporting, business advisory, and state planning). However, we’ve learned of some poor feedback regarding these based on their reviews.
Fortunately, they redeemed themselves with the pleasing customer service they give their customers. It’s reflected in the feedback that their CPAs are warm and fun to work with, which is always an exciting thing to know.
Lastly, we think it’s nice to bring up that they have served a broad range of industries so it’s safe to say that they really are a great help with any accounting matters you need. Plus, they have other value-added services you might require while working with them.

Pros
- Over 25 years of working with businesses
- Full-service CPA firm
- Served over 600 homeowner’s associations in the Pacific Northwest)
- Specializes in delivering tax, auditing, review, compilation and reserve study services
- Great communication
- Free quotations
Cons
- Doesn’t disclose that particularity of their resources
- Specifics of fees are not available
We are personally wowed with the impressive track record Schwindt & Co has on their current portfolio. In fact, with their years of practice in the accounting industry, their expertise and knowledge are evident.
Speaking of which, their performance history reflects that they have served over 600 homeowner’s associations in the Pacific Northwest including their office in the Portland area. After all, they are a full-service CPA firm.
Another great thing about them is they aren’t actually that picky in accommodating clients. Be it small businesses and business owners, or even individual taxpayers, they can provide you with a wide range of industry-specific accounting services.
To give you an idea, they specialize in delivering tax, auditing, review, compilation, and reserve study services. It’s just that they aren’t particular with their resources, although they do disclose some of them on their website.
When it comes to matters regarding communications, they quite meet our expectations. Their team of CPAs takes time to go over each individual client’s unique situation according to the clients we talked to.
Their fees, on the other hand, are kept closed within agreements so you have to reach out to them to get a clear quote. Although, we did hear that they can provide you with a free quotation so trying them out first may be worth a shot.

Pros
- Professional and experienced CPAs
- Top 1% of CPA firms in the United States
- Membership in the AICPA and Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants
- Knowledgeable with private business and financial matters
- Experienced with working on long-term concerns
Cons
- Uncertainties with their resources and tools
With Geffen Mesher & Co, it’s their team of experts that we think is their strongest point. To tell you honestly, their people’s skills in fulfilling the mandates associated with auditing and accounting is their inner core and we can’t wait to tell you why.
First thing is that they do speak the language. Since most of their staff had worked in the private sector, they can easily talk to the clients who are senior-level managers, controllers, and business owners about anything regarding private business and its financial matters.
On the same note, we’ve also learned that they try to put the right accounting and assurance team together for you, especially if you intend to do business with them for the long term. That being said, it totally gives us peace of mind on this part.
Now, talking about their background, the firm has been in the business since 1933. As a matter of fact (and the point where they totally exceeded our expectations), they’re in the top 1% of CPA firms in the United States.
On top of it all, they gained membership in the AICPA and Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. It’s also nice to know that they are being evaluated by an independent peer reviewer, which just proved that they are not afraid and that they don’t hide any wrongful works.
Finally, they do offer a wide range of accounting services such as tax planning, compilations, reviews, audits, and other consultation jobs. The only problem is that there are uncertainties with their resources and tools to execute the service, so keep that in mind!
