With hundreds of reviews under their name, it’s not hard to notice how popular Heritage Barbershop actually is. In fact, we think they gained this reputation by providing the kind of service you’ll keep running back to.

To kick things off, they offer a wide range of services from traditional haircuts to exfoliating scalp therapy. There’s nothing too out of the blue about these offerings but we do like their options already as we find them sufficient.

Moving on, the shop also allows customers to pick their own barber. Through this system, we believe clients are able to develop more trust in their barber and come back again for their service (ensuring consistency in styles as well).

However, do note that every barber charges differently and each one of them has their own preferred mode of payment. This eliminates overall structure, but if you’ll commit to one barber, then it might not be an inconvenience over time.

Speaking of rates, they charge reasonably for an already reputable barber shop in the Portland area. The atmosphere is pretty good too and even made us feel like the experience is truly priceless (especially if you like small casual talks). 

The place tends to be a bit busy though so setting appointments online can be a hassle. However, if you happen to score a flexible schedule, then the rest of the process is all smooth and seamless from start to finish.

Even though Take Pride Barbershop was only established in 2019, they already have over 9 years experience in traditional barbering services. This and the positive customer service feedback they have earned them a spot on our list. 

To be precise, they have the usual services a barbershop provides: haircut & styling, beard trimming/shaving, which are all pretty standard. Much to our surprise, they also offer hair coloring services but they can only be booked by the barbers.

In line with that, new clients must book a color consult first (free), before scheduling their color service. On the other hand, we find this service convenient for returning clients since they just need to contact their previous barber to book an appointment.

Now, we find this shop’s pricing system very budget-friendly specifically on their traditional services (ranging from $25 to $55). However, color services will cost you over $100 to $200 but it’s fair enough since this is a very demanding job for barbers.

Unfortunately, not all clients find their prices okay, seeing that other shops can offer a simple haircut for just $20. But, this poor review doesn’t worry us at all due to the fact that besides the quality, they have a nice place to accommodate clients.

We personally had a trip to their shop and we are confident to say that they take creativity into their place. You just have to schedule your visit since they don’t accommodate walk-ins so do take note if you plan to visit.

When you come down to Manly & Sons Barber Co. in Portland (and even their other locations) for a cut & shave, you’ll get top-quality results. This is at least what we’ve learned from their clients’ claims through surveys and reviews.

Being in this business for 8 years, for us isn’t quite enough experience. However, knowing that they have no less than 4 shops in America speaks a lot for how highly-demanded their services are across various locations.

Residents in the Portland area can enjoy a wide range of their cut and shave services. It’s just that we haven’t been aware of their exact rates so sadly, we wouldn’t be able to tell you more about it (though we’ve heard that the rates are pretty fair.

For additional information, they work on a package deal – your chosen haircut, hair wash + shampoo, & straight razor hot towel shave. This, for us, has its own pros and cons: it is nice since you’re getting a service as a whole, but it’s obviously pricey at the same time.

For some reason, the shop has a record of booking the wrong service contrary to what their clients originally scheduled. The good thing is that it’s just a typical technical issue and only happened once or twice, although we still see it as a turn-off.

On a much brighter note, we’ve learned that their barbers always take every job they do with high regard for detail and the use of traditional barbering methods. It’s actually shown on their 4-star ratings on Google and Yelp reviews, just so you know.

One great thing about Lyle’s Barber Shop is that their services are performed by licensed barbers. This makes them a top destination for the residents of the Portland area, seeking a traditional barbershop experience. 

Although they only have a limited number of barbers, it’s still quite reassuring not just for us that their staff actually studied for this kind of service. Since this is the case, you can, in fact, expect them to give you a classic to a modern haircut.

Obviously, seeing that they know so much more about this field, they have with them the right materials to cater to personalized cust. We appreciate barbershops like them that make use of the latest tools for the best possible barbering services.

Additionally, every service they provide is finished with an extra favor for your convenience, which we see as the icing on top of it all. With this, you can get a straight razor neck shave and a splash of aftershave.

Now, the only downside we noticed is the fact they do not accept payment through digital means, meaning you can’t pay with your credit card or things like that. That’s why we advise you to take cash if you ever visit them for a haircut.

All things considered, the barbershop, as we see them, could be your go-to barbershop for basic haircutting services. It’s also worth mentioning that their barbers are, from what we’ve heard, friendly and always up for a great conversation.

We are aware that men’s hairstyles are as diverse as ever. In fact, men nowadays don’t keep the same haircut and style as before, that’s why barbers of Aura Barber Studio are trained to cater to your personalized cut, whatever it is you wish.

Actually, our interviews reflect that most of their clients are wowed by how professional their barbers are. Believe it or not, you can just show them a picture of your desired cut and they could make it happen, though it’s one that we don’t quite absorb at first.

Moreover, there’s this fun thing that they do that other barbershops don’t (at least that we know of). All barber shop services they provide – cuts, shaves, trims – are accompanied by a complimentary product hairstyle from their store.

This actually, in our opinion, is what sets them apart from other and most popular barbershops in their area. And it’s the one thing we would like you to personally experience once you take a shot with them.

There’s just this tiny problem about availability since they’re often fully booked. Fortunately, a simple haircut from them would only take almost 15 minutes, which would make it possible for them to squeeze your appointment into a busy day.

Speaking of appointments, we also found small inconsistencies when it comes to entertaining cancellations. Thankfully, once everything is settled, they are more than open to refund your initial payment, which is a nice touch.
