When walking up to a spa for a facial, the service quality is just one of the many things that make up the experience. Another important factor is the environment and the general ambiance of the spa – and the welcoming energy, of course.

Getting into Echo Natural Beauty was a wonderful experience for us, particularly because the place is relaxing and feels very bright. Calm music surrounds the venue with a nice lobby filled with various skincare products.

Now, in terms of services, we do like their facial menu, particularly their custom facials. Being their most popular option, it’s applicable to almost all kinds of skin types (but please do be honest if you have any allergies to avoid any issues.

Apart from this, there are also various kinds of facials depending on the level of care you want. What makes these better are the add-on options (even though there are only two at the moment) to make the experience better.

In terms of rates, they charge fairly for facials as nothing’s excessively expensive within Portland’s standards. Plus, they offer service packages for more than one person, great if you’re bringing friends along.

Unfortunately, there are minor issues in terms of customer service which can be frustrating for most clients. At least, these reports aren’t large in scale so it’s not as concerning as far as service quality goes. 

The wide variety of facial treatments Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa offers is what made us put them on this list. All thanks to the licensed estheticians they have, you can indulge yourself in your much-needed “me time”.

Speaking of the variety of this treatment, clients can choose from classic facials, men’s facials, teen facials, detox facials, and so much more. What’s more exciting is that each treatment can be customized to meet your skin concerns.

We’re also aware that they have these so-called enhanced facial options, which is quite intriguing actually. Well, here, clients have the opportunity of targeting wrinkles (using anti-aging skincare) as well as acne using this specialized treatment.

Now, when it comes to their rates, we like how they manage to make their service affordable. As a matter of fact, for their facial services, they’ve designed a pricing structure along with facial packages that fit your budget – all without sacrificing their quality.

The problem we’ve heard so far, at least according to their reviews, is how few of their clients felt deceived by the spa’s booking. They claim that a 1-hour session only lasted about 45 minutes, which honestly speaking is a downside on our part.

On the other hand, the spa gives very generous introductory offers to first-time clients. You can enjoy Swedish massages and classic (or teens/men’s) facials, all in one hour, which is a really nice touch if you want to go all out on your pamper day.

Be Smooth tells us that they use advanced and effective methods for all of the services they offer. In fact, they focus more on treatments and solutions rather than on just pampering, and we think that’s what your skin deserves.

In general, facial treatments with them deeply cleanses your pores (well it’s nothing special since it is really what a facial does). However, what makes theirs extraordinary is the fact that they execute it through a gentle sonic extraction technique.

Apart from this cool method, they also provide customized facial masks that help in nourishing and hydrating your face. All this, plus delivering the right product for you is done with the help of their French-trained estheticians.

Unfortunately, there were some minor issues with their staff (the reviews show). While they’re all very friendly, new staff members often miss appointments which we understand can cause stress to all clients.

Another thing that was a turn-off for us is that some of their procedures are done in a space with other clients. Good thing, they actually do have private rooms, it’s just that you have to make sure to request it in booking as it isn’t automatically reserved.

Lastly, we do find their pricing very reasonable for a top-notch technique and method. For your information, a classic facial with them (with exfoliant) will cost you $65 while the facial with extractions is available for $75, with no promos and deals, as of this writing.

What sets Blooming Moon Wellness Spa apart is the fact that they’re an eco-friendly spa. We bet that their all-natural alternatives and cruelty-free product lines would make you consider them for your pampering needs, especially for facials.

With the wide selection of facials they offer, we’re pleased to know not just one, but all of them are incorporated with all-natural skin care products, bringing you healthy skin. Plus, we’ve heard that their place has this great atmosphere that makes you feel at home.

On top of it all, they have this Blooming Moon Signature Facial, which is their very own kind of facial. Here, clients can enjoy a 90-minute advanced facial that combines microdermabrasion, micro-current, LED lights & ultrasound waves.

However, a very demanding facial like this comes with expensive pricing, as one would naturally expect. Compared to their cheapest facial which is available for $55, this one will cost you $260, and that’s for one session only.

On the other hand, their advanced facial membership, which is $235 per month, will save you hundreds of dollars since you can enjoy their facial treatments whenever you want. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t include the facial add-ons they offer.

There’s just a tiny problem not with their spa service, but actually with their office service. Turns out, there were some issues of delay in purchasing their gift certificates, which, for us, is quite alarming since it is non-refundable but other than that, their overall service is quite alright.

Zama Massage Therapeutic Spa has received local top awards including Best of Portland Readers Poll for Top Spa, Best Massage, and Best Facial. If these awards don’t speak to the quality of service they provide, we don’t know what else does.

Aside from these recognitions, they’re one of the few spas, at least to our knowledge, that offers Hydrafacial, as well as organic facials. Other than those, clients can also expect a wide selection of other facial options. 

If we’re being honest, we find their facial treatments quite expensive. Well, their most basic one, which is the organic back facial, will already cost you $84 for a 30-minute session, while the remaining facial treatments are available for hundreds of dollars.

Although they offer facial packages (series of 3 to 6 sessions), we still think it’s not affordable enough for most clients. Fortunately, they do have seasonal specials and sales, which certainly redeems their high rates, in our opinion.

However, even though they don’t quite meet our pricing expectations, they do so with the kind of service they deliver. In fact, their experienced staff provides individualized care tailored to suit your wellness needs, which is truly what matters the most.

For our final note, we’d also like to highlight the convenient location they have, at least according to their clients. It’s simply because there are a few parking slots behind their facility, which gives us an impression that getting there is less stressful.
