Pros

  • 15,000 square feet of space
  • Flexible membership options
  • Private offices available
  • Competitive rates
  • Great outdoor views

Cons

  • Parking lot is often full

For budding entrepreneurs and freelancers, NedSpace might be an exciting choice. This is because the place was specifically designed with this kind of individuals in mind – particularly amongst start-ups.

The area is pretty spacious as it covers 15,000 square feet of space, perfect for movement with minor distractions. It’s also set at a level that enables people to look over the surrounding areas without obstructions.

Interested tenants can opt between two major membership options: Open Desk and Dedicated Desk Coworking Membership. There are also private offices available with varying rates depending on the office size.

Was cool about this coworking space are the amenities you can enjoy, starting from the accessible underground parking to fast and reliable WiFi. Plus, there is access to showers, a large full kitchen, and event spacious,

If we’re being honest, the amenities are nothing too groundbreaking – they’re only the standard ones you can expect. But, the combined reliability and experience sets them apart from the rest in Portland.

NedSpace is quite known in the area as one of the oldest coworking spaces to exist. Still, as we found during our quick visits, the energetic atmosphere remains within a quiet and well-maintained working space.

Pros

  • Suites and office available
  • Access spaces for individuals
  • Daily breakfast and craft coffee
  • Unlimited printing
  • Wellness room available
  • Dedicated community manager

Cons

  • High starting rates

What we love about Industrious is the flexibility of the space, allowing various types of teams to take advantage of its offerings. In general, its layout is most suitable for small businesses, remote workers, and independent employees.

Among the coworking spaces on our list, it is the only one with a perfect 5-star rating in Google Review. And we can associate this rank based on their amenities and services that amp up the experience.

But let’s talk about its membership plans first. Small teams can choose between suites and offices depending on their needs and office requirements (the suite is more expensive as it can accommodate more people).

There’s also an access space ideal for hybrid teams or individuals as well as virtual offices for remote working. In-office setups get to enjoy downtown views, natural lighting, and top-class furniture that we really like.

One more thing that might win your heart (because it won ours), is the fact that the building is dog-friendly. Printing is also unlimited, plus other cool additions such as daily breakfast & craft coffee and a dedicated community manager.

Some of the bigger facilities that earned our favor are the wellness room and private conference rooms. The starting rates are quite high though so we really do recommend digging deeper to see if it fits your budget.

Pros

  • Spacious and relaxed working area
  • Flexible membership plans
  • Hot desks and dedicated desks available
  • Affordable coworking rates
  • All-inclusive community for organizations
  • Punch-card available

Cons

  • Little options for working teams

openHAUS takes a different twist when it comes to coworking spaces – and that’s what we love most about them. The environment and spacious pack with awesome features that other big agencies don’t even have.

For starters, we’d love to talk about the working space which, in our opinion, feels more relaxed and homey versus an office. The ceiling is high, the space is clean, and it has an industrial look to it that makes the ambiance calmer.

Naturally, it also has everything that’s expected in a coworking area, from desks to private rooms for meetings and conferences. But what we do like is this small yet beautiful library on-site which we think is a great place for downtime.

The place is also dog-friendly so that naturally warms our hearts for the best. But they also have flexible membership plans which, upon assessment, we can recommend more to individual workers rather than teams of business.

They have a punch card which is ideal for individuals that only want to work there occasionally. For those with a more long-term vision, there are also hot desks and dedicated desks available on monthly subscriptions.

These plans are the most affordable rates we’ve encountered during our search so that wins a spot in our books. It’s also one of few that are openly inclusive to support POC, women, and LGBTQIA+ organizations.

Pros

  • Elegantly designed working space
  • Flexible rental terms
  • Provides the necessary amenities
  • Discounts are often offered
  • Vibrant neighborhood

Cons

  • Minor drawbacks with customer service

The CENTRL Office in the Portland Pearl District is amongst one of our recommended coworking spaces in the area. If you fancy an elegantly designed working space, you might just want to check them out.

Like the usual coworking spaces, they offer furnished offices, meeting rooms, and other workspaces with flexible rental terms. But what’s good about them is they have the right mix of privacy and community, along with a great environment to support productivity.

One thing that attracts the occupants to rent a working space is the kind of amenities they can access, and surely they didn’t disappoint. With them, members and tenants can enjoy their steady wifi, print/copy machines, shared lounges, kitchens, and support staff.

On top of that, you can also choose between their three flexible memberships – Flex, Flex Plus, and Mailbox. For as low as $98 (person/month), interested tenants can take advantage of the above-mentioned amenities, plus certain discounts.

When it comes to the establishment’s location, through one of our visits, it is quite easy to come across and has a vibrant neighborhood (they are steps away from cafes and breakfast spots). Getting there is also pretty convenient for it has onsite bike storage and nearby parking.

Despite these great things we’ve mentioned, still, we found a tiny issue with their customer service – previous customers reflected how their staff is kind of distant. Nonetheless, it’s a small matter on a large scale of things so it’s good for now.

Pros

  • Flexible office spaces
  • Reasonable membership rates
  • All access to amenities
  • Offers day passes
  • Fully furnished offices available

Cons

  • Higher rates for private offices and dedicated desks
  • Poor parking facility

Through intensive research, we discovered that most of Portland’s professionals have found Urban Office’s quality to be of top-level when it comes to coworking spaces. There are various reasons as to why this is the case and we’re here to discuss them

Above all, their coworking space is their lowest membership level and at the same time the cheapest one. Regardless of that, occupants can still have 24-hour access to the space and all the same amenities as the other memberships.

Speaking of which, other than the usual amenities like WiFi, printer, full-service kitchen, and the likes, their phone booth for private conversation won us over. This gives the tenants, especially the coworking members freedom from interference whenever a call is necessary.

Another service they offer is private offices which range in size from 2 to 6 people (depending on your layout). This is their most expensive space membership since it’s a fully furnished setup. (chairs, desks, etc.), except for desktops.

If you are in need of coworking space for only a few days, they also have an offering under their additional products and services. Interested tenants can occupy space through their Day Pass (which could be valid for 1 up to 10 days).

The only concerning thing we learned about them is the limited parking space they have. Although this doesn’t affect the working culture, we still think that it needs to be addressed for better and improved customer service.

We like that their workspaces are not only geared to enhance productivity but also ensure that clients get the comfort and socialization needed to balance their work-life needs with their flexible spaces and business resources.

Furthermore, they also offer clients a variety of event spaces that is versatile when it comes to holding and exploring a variety of professional skills and personal hands-on interests as well.

What we like about their facility is how it is home to spacious private offices, flexible coworking space, and conference rooms.

Pros

  • Thoughtfully Designed Workspace
  • Intimate Community Vibe
  • Variety of Desk Options

Cons

  • There might be slight limitations due to geographic specificity

Pep Coworking Shop takes pride in its small-scale community approach. With just enough room for ten comfortable desks, the space fosters a sense of familiarity, where members know each other by name. This intimacy allows for meaningful connections and collaborations, extending beyond the walls of the office.

Situated in the Kenton neighborhood of North Portland, Pep Coworking Shop benefits from its proximity to great food options, access to the arts, a library, and one of Portland’s beautiful parks. Easy accessibility via bus, Max, bike, car, or foot adds to the convenience for members.

Despite its compact size, Pep Coworking Shop maximizes its 725 square feet efficiently. High ceilings and giant windows create a sense of openness, enhancing the overall workspace. The minimalist design and clever organization of amenities contribute to a clutter-free environment, promoting a focused and productive atmosphere.

While the coworking space emphasizes its local community and surroundings, it may limit the appeal for those outside the Kenton neighborhood. Potential members residing in other areas of Portland or beyond might find the location less convenient.

Overall, Pep Coworking Shop presents a distinctive coworking experience by embracing its small-scale community ethos. The thoughtfully designed workspace, variety of desk options, and convenient location contribute to a positive working environment.
