Pros

  • Quick turnaround
  • Excellent customer service
  • Knowledgeable staff
  • Wide selection of garments
  • Fair prices

Cons

  • Tends to be busy
  • No price estimates online

Portland Ink offers a wide range of services that can meet any of your screen printing or branding needs.

Most of their customers are businesses looking to make employee uniforms or local sports teams that need sports jerseys. You’re not limited to just screen printing, as they offer sublimation and embroidery too.

You don’t have to worry if you don’t have a design or a clear idea for your project. Their staff is knowledgeable in what they do and willing to assist you through the whole process.

One thing we like about them is their wide selection of garments thanks to their multiple connections with suppliers in the area. This way, you’re sure they can get you the specific type of garment you seek.

We’re also impressed with their good track record of meeting deadlines. Clients noted that Portland Ink was able to meet even the closest of deadlines without fail.

However, they do tend to be busy. They’ve usually got multiple projects lined up, and while they can meet the set deadlines, it’s still best to contact them early enough for them to complete your project with time to spare.

Their high demand is also due to their prices, which we found to be fair and competitive. But if you’re scouting for their price range online, you won’t find it.

To get a quote for your project, you’ll have to call them or visit them personally. It might not be the most convenient, but this way, the staff will be able to properly attend to your concerns.

Pros

  • Highly communicative
  • Great attention to detail
  • Helpful staff
  • Can do large projects
  • Sends constant updates
  • Fair prices

Cons

  • Some complaints of not responding to quote requests
  • Some clients not liking their cold calls

We were initially surprised to hear that most of Shop Strange’s customers found their experience with them to be fun. But upon further observation, we realized why they called them such.

First, their staff are very helpful toward their customers and want to make the process as easy as possible. They can work with highly specific requests and will make sure they’re able to meet the vision you have in mind.

We think they’re a great fit if you have a large project, as they have a great record of fulfilling orders with at least 1,000 items.

Many clients of theirs were also impressed with Shop Strange’s ability to solve problems. There might be some issues that will come up during your project, but they’re quick on their feet to find alternatives.

Their prices are fair, and they’re willing to find a way to work within your budget. You can request a free quote for your project on their website, but we have heard some instances of them not responding to these requests.

Shop Strange mentioned that this was because of glitches in their website and they fixed the issue right away. However, we still suggest that you call them instead for a guaranteed response.

Another minor complaint we’ve heard is that Shop Strange does cold calls, and while some have found them this way, others found it irritating and gave them a wrong impression.

However, we don’t find these complaints to be too worrying, and we still think they’re a reliable screen printer to fulfill your projects.

Pros

  • Highly communicative
  • Helpful staff
  • Transparent pricing and deadlines
  • Fair prices
  • Wide range of services

Cons

  • Mixed reviews on quality
  • Minor complaints of late projects

Oregon Screen Impressions has been in the business for more than 10 years, and they’ve built a wide portfolio with different kinds of projects.

Their staff is responsive when it comes to answering your quote requests and queries. They’re helpful in setting up everything you need for your project—from the specific garment and design to the type of print.

You’ll be kept constantly updated on your project, especially if some issues come along the way. They’re transparent in their work and will let you know if they think there may be a possibility of delays or a change in suppliers.

Most of their clients have been satisfied by the quality of their work, but some have reported that they received inconsistent quality in their orders. The complaints mostly mentioned some mistakes in the print and poor quality of shirts.

Another complaint we heard about was with late completion times, and while most customers were made aware of possible delays, a few were left blindsided and had to follow up on the status of their project.

We did find out that Oregon Screen Impressions takes responsibility for any of their lapses and makes it up to the customer the best way they could. Some unsatisfied customers, however, have already chosen to take their business elsewhere.

That being said, we’re still impressed with how Oregon Screen Impressions makes up for their mistakes as much as they could. No business is perfect, so we admire their responsibility when it comes to customer satisfaction.

Pros

  • Good record of customer loyalty
  • Skilled crew
  • Quick turnaround
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent quality work

Cons

  • A bit pricier
  • Limited services offered

Pacific North Press focuses on custom screen printing and embroidery and prioritizes sustainability in the goods they produce.

They’re good at what they do and have a great eye for detail. They have a good sense of capturing the client’s vision and make appropriate suggestions as they see fit.

We’ve never heard a single complaint about the quality of their products, and their attention to detail is the primary reason for that. They understand the printing process well and can bring out vibrant colors in their finished products.

Since they focus on creating sustainable products, this also means they create products that can last you for a long time. Their prints don’t fade quickly, and the garments they use don’t pill easily either.

Their prices are just a little bit higher than others on this list, but every client we’ve spoken to said that the prices were worth the quality of the products.

If you have certain budget constraints, they’re happy to accommodate you and work within your budget.

They’re also accommodating toward sudden changes or short deadlines, and they’re quick to get the work started.

As we said, they focus on screen printing and embroidery, so it’s assumed that you should already have a design by the time you contact them. They also won’t be able to create other promotional gear like others on this list.

So if you’re strictly looking for screen printing or embroidery, then we are confident Pacific North Press can do a spectacular job.

Pros

  • Uses water-based ink
  • Can start projects online
  • Offers free shipping
  • Wide range of garments
  • Accommodating toward customer requests
  • Great attention to detail

Cons

  • Has a minimum order of 20 pieces
  • Limited services offered

Rendered prides itself as an eco-friendly screen printing business. They only use water-based ink, which is great if you’re environmentally conscious or want to avoid plastics in your ink.

Additionally, they also have a wide range of garments that you can browse on their site. They’ve got you covered if you’re looking for a specific fabric or want to choose garments that are only made out of natural threads.

But what really impresses us was how easy it is to set up an order with them. All you have to do is go on their website and follow their instructions in starting a project, and you’re good to go, without even having to visit their store.

Should you need extra assistance, you can reach them through the phone and the staff will be happy to assist you.

Their staff is also highly skilled and knowledgeable in what they do. Because water-based ink is different from plastic-based ink, they’ll give you suggestions on the best method to achieve your vision in mind.

However, they only offer screen printing and embroidery. They don’t offer custom graphic design, so you need your design to be ready before you approach them.

They also have a minimum order of 20 pieces with the same design, so if you have a smaller project than that, you’ll have to look at the other options on this list.

But despite that, we think that Rendered is an excellent choice for your screen printing needs, especially for the environmentally conscious.
