Pros

  • Accommodates emergency cases
  • Dentists provide thorough assessments
  • Prioritizes patient’s comfort
  • Bills all insurance companies

Cons

  • No X-ray machines in-clinic
  • Can be unclear about out-of-pocket costs

What drew our eye to Endodontics Associates is how happy and satisfied their former patients are. The two attending dentists, Dr. Ben Nielsen and Dr. Andy Broadsworld, have done many root canal therapies that saved many patients’ teeth.

It’s not only root canal therapies they perform but also endodontic surgeries for teeth with traumatic injuries. They’re very thorough in their work and take time to explain the teeth condition of each patient.

They open early at 7:15 AM, and they accommodate emergency cases within the day. If you are looking for a same-day appointment, know that this is subject to your situation.

The clinic is well-equipped with all the dental equipment needed to conduct their procedures, but our only gripe is that they don’t have an in-clinic X-ray machine. So if you don’t come in with an X-ray during your first appointment, you’ll have to go back out and get one.

While the past patients we’ve spoken to almost all had good things to say, we kept hearing one common complaint: a miscommunication on fees and out-of-pocket costs.

Some past patients were surprised to find extra fees charged to them and not their insurance provider. They claim that it wasn’t made clear to them in the clinic, although the staff assisted them in reducing personal costs.

Overall, Endodontics Associates has competent staff that pays good attention to each patient that enters their doors. But if you plan to set an appointment with them, we suggest you work out your insurance details before you get your teeth fixed.

Pros

  • Warm and friendly staff
  • Great post-operative care
  • Up-to-date dental equipment
  • Thorough assessment and work
  • Dentists can speak Spanish
  • Clear insurance policies

Cons

  • Same-day appointments not always accommodated

Located in The Commons Medical Office Park, this dental clinic doesn’t feel like a clinic! Once you enter their doors, you’ll find yourself in a cozy lobby that can pass as a living room.

It’s this same comfortable atmosphere that impressed us with Washington State Endodontics. Everyone from the front desk staff to the dentists is so welcoming that your hesitations about going to an endodontist will likely disappear.

Those we’ve spoken to who got their root canal treatments only had words of praise for dentists Dr. Kenneth Wiltbank and Dr. Ryan Reese. They’re so skilled in root canal treatments that many former patients say they barely felt anything during the procedure.

More than their expertise, what we like most about them is the amount of care they show to each patient. Not only do they take time to explain the procedure about to be done, but they make sure you’re comfortable for the entirety of your root canal treatment.

But that’s nearly not as impressive as how thorough their post-operative care is. They tell you everything you need to know for recovery, and your attending dentist is always open to your calls—even on weekends!

This level of dedication and care to each patient makes us confident in putting Washington State Endodontics on this list. The catch is that same-day appointments and emergency cases are not always accommodated, which can be crucial for your teeth’s health.

But if your root canal treatment can wait a day or two, they’re an excellent choice for your endodontist.

Pros

  • Accommodates emergency cases
  • Has complete dental equipment
  • Skilled and kind dentists
  • Offers in-house financing options
  • Clean and sleek design

Cons

  • Some reports of insurance billing issues

There are a lot of things that brought Multnomah Endodontics to our attention, but it’s their clean and sleek clinic design that first caught our eye. You’ll feel comfortable and safe upon entering the clinic, seeing that the place is kept clean with the latest technology available.

They have all the dental equipment needed to complete any endodontic procedure, including dental 3D imaging, removing any inconvenience on your end. Also, their dental suites are spacious, allowing you to take one companion for support.

Their attending dentists, Dr. Jay Bayat and Dr. Antonio Diaz Sanchez, have left good impressions on their patients. The root canal treatment is done swiftly without compromising the quality of the service.

What patients admire most about Dr. Bayat and Dr. Diaz Sanchez is that they do everything to save your natural teeth. One patient we’ve spoken to said that other dentists recommended his tooth for extraction, but Dr. Bayat was able to conduct a root canal treatment instead.

In fact, the Multnomah Endodontics staff are so dedicated to their patients that they even do follow-up calls to patients after their treatment! It’s this kind of care that ensures patient satisfaction and wellbeing are a priority in their clinic.

One recurring issue we kept hearing, however, is with insurance billing. Some found discrepancies in their insurance bills, and one patient was asked to pay for the treatment upfront instead of it being billed through insurance.

But because Multnomah Endodontics understands how essential endodontic procedures are, they offer in-house financing options to help patients. This understanding of patients’ needs assures us they want the best for you and your endodontic needs.

Pros

  • 12 accepted insurance plans
  • Headphones/music option during treatment
  • Friendly staff
  • Good record of successful treatments

Cons

  • Had issues of late release of insurance documents
  • One report of lack of empathy during procedure

With almost 20 years of experience in endodontics, Dr. Chris J. Jampert knows his way around endodontic treatments. He supplements his skills with dental technology by using a surgical operating microscope during his procedures.

Although he’s the sole dentist in his clinic, Dr. Lampert is assisted by friendly and accommodating dental assistants who go out of their way to ensure you are at ease. This makes his clinic a good option for those who have anxiety over going to the dentist.

You will also be given the option to listen to music or put headphones on if you don’t like the sound of dental tools. But if you’d rather not have them on, he also explains his way during the procedure to make you aware of what he’s doing.

The patients we’ve spoken to have mostly been pleased with Dr. Lampert’s work, saying he’s precise and efficient. However, one of those we spoke to reported that Dr. Lampert wasn’t very empathetic when they started panicking during the procedure.

Needless to say, this was an isolated case, as most former patients of his felt that he was pleasant during the treatment. A complaint we heard more of was his clinic’s delayed release of insurance claims.

This has led to frustration for some former patients who would have to repeatedly call Dr. Lampert’s office to settle matters.

Despite that, we still believe that Dr. Lampert is a skilled endodontist who does his work well. But be prepared to come to a clear agreement on insurance matters with his office staff.

Pros

  • Offers a wide range of services
  • 16 insurance plans accepted
  • Kind dentist
  • Helpful receptionist

Cons

  • One complaint about assistant not being careful

Endodontics Limited is the one with the most services offered on this list. This is because the clinic’s attending dentist, Dr. Steve Elkhal, is passionate about what he does.

His clinic offers almost every endodontic service, including baby root canal or pulpotomy. So if your child needs endodontic work done on their baby teeth, going to Dr. Elkhal is an excellent choice.

All of his former patients we’ve spoken to have good words to say about Dr. Elkhal. They mostly commended his efforts to ensure they were all doing well during their treatment.

Another thing that put Endodontics Limited on our list is the range of his accepted insurance plans. They already accept 16 different insurance plans, but the clinic says this is just a partial list!

We’ve also found their receptionist to be helpful in assisting you in finding out if they can accept your specific insurance plan. Additionally, one patient even mentioned how Endodontics Limited made sure they got their treatment done despite their financial situation.

The only complaint we heard about Dr. Elkhal’s clinic was about a dental assistant who wasn’t careful in attending to the patient. The clinic took this feedback well and made a point of improving its service.

That attention to detail and thoughtfulness to each patient’s condition only strengthens our opinion of Endodontics Limited. This assures us they will do everything they can to provide you with the best endodontic care.
