We recently visited Pets on Broadway, and we were really impressed with their selection. They have over 30 brands of dog and cat food, plus some unique items for exotic pets—all sourced from local vendors.

They even have bulk food options for small animals, which I think is a fantastic eco-friendly touch.

As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us with big smiles and offered some great advice. It felt like they genuinely cared about helping us make the right choices for our pets.

The atmosphere was super fun, too. We loved the hand-painted window art and vibrant displays, especially in the aquarium section—it really adds character. 

However, we did notice that some products were a bit pricier compared to other stores or online options. So, if you’re on a tight budget, it might be worth checking prices first. 

On the bright side, they are really involved in the community and host events for those looking to adopt or support local rescues.

“Pets on Broadway is a fantastic pet shop! They have a wide selection of cat food, toys, and trees! We bought two cat trees here on Labor Day. One little one for my guest room (they have to be cozy everywhere!) and a giant cat tree meant for Maine Coons. We bought it for my Mom’s cat who weighs 16-17lbs. Her fat cat cannot knock this tree over going buck wild with zoomies! A worker helped us disassemble a floor model and put it in our car. The employees are ALWAYS this amazing! One thing we immediately noticed when we visited Nature’s Pet Market is that it really has that local charm that sets it apart from bigger chain stores. 

They took the time to chat with us about our pup’s diet and even offered some personalized recommendations. You just don’t get that kind of service everywhere.

What really caught our attention was their impressive focus on natural and holistic pet foods, including raw options. This place is a goldmine if you’re looking to feed your fur baby something healthy. They prioritize high-quality nutrition over mass-produced brands. 

Plus, their selection of toys, treats, and other essentials really make shopping hassle-free. 

They also offer grooming services and a self-wash station, which is super handy. We could see this being a one-stop shop for busy pet owners. 

However, we did hear about a customer who had a negative experience with their return policy. He felt guilt-tripped trying to return pet food that his dogs refused to eat, despite being told returns were allowed.

We were really impressed by Western Pet Supply’s layout. It’s spacious, which creates a cozy vibe perfect for leisurely browsing without feeling rushed or cramped. 

The standout feature? Their fantastic selection of raw and organic pet foods. It’s definitely a go-to spot for health-conscious pet owners.

We also checked out their custom cedar pet beds, the original product that started the store. Designed by the founding family, these beds looked incredibly cozy. However, they’re a little pricey, so they might not be the best choice for those with a tight budget.

While we found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful, we did hear mixed reviews from another customer. 

He mentioned having an unfriendly encounter with a staff, which left him not wanting to return or ask questions. It’s a bit of a contrast, but it shows that experiences can vary.

We recently visited them and were impressed by their bird supplies. They have almost everything a bed parent would need. They’re also open to special orders for items they don’t have on hand.

Plus, the focus on high-quality, natural brands like Orijen and Acana is a big win for health-conscious pet owners.

We also found their boarding services for small animals really convenient, especially for those last-minute trips or when you need a trusted place to leave your pets for a few days.

Additionally, it’s heartwarming to see how they actively partner with local shelters like the Columbia Humane Society to support adoptions and animal welfare. 

However, some customers raised concerns about the price-matching policy because it only applies to those who join the loyalty program. This can feel restrictive, and some feel pressured to share personal information just to get a better deal.

Portland Pet Supply has been a cherished part of the community since 1984, and you can feel that warm vibe the moment you step inside. 

The staff is genuinely friendly and eager to help, making it a welcoming place for both pets and their humans. 

We were really impressed by the quality of the brands they carry, all dedicated to pet health and wellness.

We also appreciate that they source products locally. This not only boosts the neighborhood economy but also ensures fresher options for our furry friends. 

However, it’s worth noting that some popular items have been known to be frequently out of stock. We found this a bit inconvenient for regular customers relying on specific products. 

On a positive note, safety is a top priority here. We felt really comfortable shopping, thanks to the store’s solid health protocols, like their regular disinfection.

And for those who prefer to stay cozy at home, the curbside pickup option is a total win. 

Staff is willing to assist for your pets’ better nutrition

“Staff is very knowledgeable about products and can assist with changing your pets food if you are looking for more natural or better nutrition. Prices are very reasonable. The have a great 12 bag program where the 13th is free. Parking isn’t the best in front of the store. But if we are all considerate multiple cars won’t have to park on side streets. Speaking of there are at least 3 to 4 close side streets during peak hours. This store is located in a neighborhood and on a fairly busy street.”
