Speed’s Towing has been operating for 70+ years. That’s an impressive track record, off the bat.

They used to serve a lot of areas but realized that doing so doesn’t relate to success. Since then, they’ve downsized and focused on a smaller area, which makes them approach their business in a more focused manner. 

They cater to different needs with the services they offer such as emergency tow trucks, roadside assistance, car carrier, covered car carrier, and consignments. 

You can call for them if you happen to run out of gas or battery, if you get into an accident, if you’re locked out of your car, and more. 

When we got in touch with their previous clients, a lot of them commented on their fast response time. 

We think this is the most important trait to have in a towing service, especially when it comes to urgent occasions. 

A few of the previous customers also mentioned that Speed’s Towing might do the actual towing a bit slowly, but this is to ensure that there will be no damage to your vehicle. 

We prefer that a towing company takes the more time-consuming route just so they can make sure nothing happens to our car. This is why we think this is truly one of the highlights of this company.

However, there were also some negative remarks about their customer service. The ones who experienced this had this happen to them over the phone. 

They said that the staff was quite rude and didn’t listen to their concerns. 

Overall, if you’re looking for a towing service that could get to you as soon as they can, we believe Speed’s Truck is worth checking out. They’re even open 24 hours so they can help you out no matter the time. 

One of the reasons we included Elite Towing & Recovery in our list of best towing services in Portland is that they seem to have very-well-trained employees. 

When we had a chat with Elite’s previous customers, most if not all of them mentioned that they had a great experience because of the drivers. Other than being quick and efficient, the drivers were also quite friendly.

We think this is a plus because having your car towed can be quite stressful, so it doesn’t hurt to have a kind employee help alleviate it.

Our experience was similar. The one who drove to us was skilled at small talk, which helped us keep our minds off the situation. 

They also explained to us what the next step was and we remember thinking about how trustworthy they seemed because of their eloquence and knowledge. 

Another plus we could think of is that they are equipped with modern trucks that are all in good condition. 

Moreover, they operate 24/7 so they can quickly respond to your frustrating situation. 

The services they offer are tow truck service, accident recovery, junk car removal, and roadside assistance. 

However, we also received some negative remarks about poor communication. 

This includes them not showing up on the allotted time or not giving any heads up if there were any changes to the time. 

We understand that this could be frustrating so we thought this was worth considering. But we think it’s also important to note that this doesn’t seem to happen a lot, so it might be a few unique cases. 

When we interviewed some of their past customers, all of them highlighted the same thing – reasonable pricing. 

Some of them also mentioned the company’s fast response. After they called Big Paul’s Truck Company, the tow truck usually arrived within 30 minutes or less. 

You can also create a tow request on their website which is very easy to fill up. That point of convenience is another thing we appreciate.

We also found their quotes to be quite accurate, which was mentioned by some of their previous customers. 

Furthermore, they have a wide range of related services, such as flatbed towing, wrecker towing, and heavy-duty class b wrecker towing. They also do light-duty towing for cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

There’s even an RV towing available for camp trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, and so on. Finally, they also cater to box trucks, dump trucks, skidders, forklifts, and dozers with their heavy hauling service. 

We did, however, notice some room for improvement. 

They don’t operate for 24 hours, so we think they’re not the first option to go to if you have an emergency late at night or on the weekends.

We also think they need to improve on handling customer complaints because they can get a little passive-aggressive when replying. 

Some of their previous customers noted this and we understand how frustrating it is to not have your concerns answered well. 

But overall, we found that there were a lot of satisfied clients who already had them as their designated towing company. 

Northwestern Towing & Recovery operates with Wreckmaster Certified Operators and Traffic Incident Managers. We think this means that they are keen on providing a service that is safe and reliable. 

The fact that they even trained with the fire department proves this statement. This is one of the reasons why we included Northwestern Towing & Recovery in our list of best towing services in Portland. 

They also are equipped with a 40-ton Rotator, which is only 1 of 6 in Oregon. This means they can easily operate just about any tow truck, from light to heavy ones. 

Having been operating since 1994, they also have a pretty good reputation in our area. We went out to chat with some of Northwestern Towing & Recovery’s previous customers to see what they have to say. 

A lot of them highlighted how this company stayed within the initial budget, which, unfortunately, doesn’t always happen in other service companies. 

We think this is important because a lot of services would give you a quote only to end up charging you more afterward. While it could be because of unforeseen circumstances, it could still be frustrating. 

A lot of their customers also mentioned that their price was reasonable compared to most, so we thought this was also important to highlight.

If you’re looking for an option where you’ll most likely get your money’s worth, they’re certainly worth considering. 

However, we also wanted to mention the negative reviews we’ve heard from their previous customers. 

A few mentioned their poor customer service, saying some drivers were rude to them. There were also a few who experienced the drivers not arriving on the promised time. 

We think that these are understandable downsides, so it might be important to keep these in mind when deciding which towing company is best for you. 

When we sat down with some of Crown Towing & Repair’s previous customers, they all mentioned that the people at this towing company do their job fast. This is not only when it comes to their towing service, but also to their repairs. 

It seems they’ve been trained to do their jobs efficiently, while making sure the vehicles wouldn’t get damaged in any way. 

Not only do they work fast but it seems like they are punctual as well. There were quite a few we talked to who mentioned that Crown Towing arrived much earlier than the said time.   

However, there were also negative reviews from their customers about the attitude of the drivers at the company. 

Fortunately, they’ve already provided a wise solution, which is to install cameras in their trucks. Not only will they be able to review incidents like this, but they can also record other things like if there was sudden damage to a vehicle. 

Having a camera installed, it’s easy to find a concrete idea on what happened. That way, the one at fault can easily be held accountable. 

If the driver isn’t the one at fault, then they won’t be held liable. Because of this, we think it benefits both the customers and the employees. 

Unfortunately, they’re not open for 24 hours, unlike most. So, if you’re in a pinch outside office hours, they might not be the best company to reach.
