Did an amazing job on my wife’s car
Jake and his team did an amazing job on my wife’s car. It needed an oil change and a windshield replacement. They were able to help me coordinate the windshield replacement with the glass company and my insurance. They also have a Lyft service that takes me back to my office while the car is being worked on, and picks me up when it’s finished. They turned everything around the same day! However, PDX Automotive mostly works on cars from 1996 and newer. Those with classic or vintage cars need to find another shop.

Hi-Tech Auto Repair keeps its customers in the loop with text updates and photos during their repairs. We appreciate that drivers can actually see what’s going on with their car, rather than just waiting for a call.

It felt like it’s brand new again
“Took my GS350 to a couple places to see if they can fix my rack and pinion. Took it to Lexus dealership and they quote me $4855 for parts and labor but I have to wait a week for the part and another week for labor. I pass on that. Took it to Toyota and they quote me $3890, plus they wanna do a diagnostic that cost me $100, and I still gotta wait two weeks out just like Lexus dealership. So I saw Hi-tach cause I live close by and decide to give them a text tell him what I need to be done. He quoted $2542 and the part will be here in a week, but the next day he texted me saying bring the car in, the part is here. Got it done in 2 1/2 day due to my car being too low to do alignment so I gotta take to the shop down the street. After I pick up the car, I took it to the mountain to test out the steering wheel and it felt like it’s brand new again, i’m happy with the result… for now. But over all great service, nice guy. Re-Born Automotive has been Portland’s trusted spot for European and Asian car repairs since 1983. A customer shared that Re-Born diagnosed their Acura’s timing belt problem when other shops couldn’t, which really highlights their expertise.
Re-Born handles everything from routine maintenance and engine repairs to tires, electrical work, exhaust, and hybrid services. Another driver said the technicians were very thorough when testing and conditioning their hybrid battery.
We appreciate that Re-Born Automotive makes waiting easy with a lounge, hot coffee, snacks, and free Wi-Fi.
If repairs take some time, their courtesy shuttle helps customers get where they need to go. One customer said the shuttle made it easy to get to work while their clutch was being replaced.
However, they aren’t very good at staying in touch with customers after they leave the shop. They don’t always send updates about the repair progress.
Additionally, a few customers complained about not being informed of the prices until they received the final bill.

Honest and trustworthy
“In June I had my manual gear completely blow out. I had just gotten it replaced less than a year ago from another mechanic. When I called AAA they recommended Re-born as one of the best shops. They did a great job keeping me updated and the work was amazing. The next week my ABS light went on and I called them in a panic. I brought it by and the secured a loose hose without charge. I’ll be going back soon for new tires. It’s hard to find a mechanic honest and trustworthy but are- born certainly is! Updated: got my tires replaced and aligned and it’s running so smooth! Comfort Auto & Body Repair welcomes walk-ins and handles emergency repairs without any fuss. One driver brought in their sedan after it was sideswiped and got a detailed estimate, no appointment needed.
Their collision team really stands out for technical skill. We heard from a customer who brought in a vintage Mustang after a parking lot mishap, and the team restored its original lines with custom fabrication work.
We also appreciate that their mechanics are familiar with newer cars. One Tesla owner told us the team not only repaired the aluminum body panels after an accident but also recalibrated the sensors perfectly.
What really sets them apart, though, is the care they show after repairs. One driver shared that after their SUV’s frame was fixed, the shop called to ensure they got home safely.
The only downside is that walk-in repairs can mean a bit of a wait. One driver mentioned they spent at least 35 minutes in the waiting room before their car was seen.

“this was probably the best experience i’ve had with a body shop. they helped understand what i can ask for from my insurance better than the insurance company. they were fair, upfront, honest. they had to go to such great lengths as finding another of my vehicle to get all the parts because it would be cheaper then buying them individually. it took nearly two weeks to find a suitable parts car but they persisted when i was losing hope. they explained everything clearly and communicated honestly about what the best options were. i will absolutely go to these guys again. they will be my new mechanics especially since i’m a used car guy. they know the ins and outs and did an amazing job. “I called comfort Auto & Body and Repair at 11 on Friday with a deadline to drive from Portland to Victoria, BC on the following Sunday. When I came in, Paul held the door open for me, knowing me from the call I made, and Daniel was super friendly. Everything felt very personal and professional.
