How We Picked Gift Shops in Portland
There are different reasons and occasions to give gifts, so we made sure to choose the stores that offer a wide variety of products to choose from.
Gifts carry sentimental value, so the items you purchase must be of good quality to last a long time for your receiver to remember your gesture.
It can be confusing to buy gifts, but customer service can give you a much easier time by helping you choose which items to purchase. We chose the stores with helpful staff that can assist you during your visit.
A great gift doesn’t have to be expensive. After all, it’s the thought that counts. We chose the stores that offer great products for great prices.
1. Presents of Mind
Merchandise: Cards, art, trinkets, baby gifts, artisan jewelry, homeware
Address: 3633 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97214
Contact Details: +1 503-230-7740
Business Hours: Monday – Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Presents of Mind is a unique gift shop that sells cards, jewelry, homeware, and trinkets that you can’t find elsewhere! If you want to give a gift that will surely be remembered by your receiver, this is where you should go.
What we like best about them is that the whole experience of exploring their displays is fun, and we wouldn’t be surprised if you end up taking home a gift for yourself too!
The displays can get overwhelming, but if you need assistance from the store’s staff, they’ll be happy to assist you.
However, some customers complained that the staff may have been too eager to help them, as they were being followed around the store.
That has put off some customers from their shopping experience, but many have been able to shop independently without interference from the store’s staff.
The prices will depend on the items you want to purchase, with specialty items costing more. There are items that we found to be reasonably priced, but there were others we thought weren’t worth the price.
Nevertheless, it’s still a great store for gift shopping or if you’re looking for some unique trinkets for your home. But we suggest you keep a few hours free for your visit because it’s easy to lose track of time once you’re there!
2. Tender Loving Empire
Merchandise: Home goods, accessories, cards, care packages, beauty products
Address: 412 SW 10th Ave Portland, OR 97205
Contact Details: +1 503-548-2925
Business Hours: Monday – Sunday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Tender Loving Empire has multiple locations in Oregon, but we recommended this location because we found it to have the most variety. You’re free to visit the other locations, but visiting this location will save you some time.
They’ve got lots of items on display, and it’s common for customers to shop around even if they don’t need to buy a gift! You can choose from their apparel, pins, cards, buttons, beauty items, and little trinkets.
But what customers appreciate most about them is how they support local artists and crafters by displaying their products on sale. This certainly makes for a unique gift that you won’t be able to find elsewhere.
The store is bright and well-decorated, so it won’t take you too much time to find what you need. But if you’re in need of some assistance, customers have said that their customer service is friendly and helpful.
The prices are generally reasonable, but there are some items that lean towards the expensive side, especially jewelry and accessories. We can’t attest to its quality, so it’s probably best if you look at other options before purchasing one.
Because of the store’s setup, its displays are in constant rotation. So if you found an item you’re looking to purchase the next time you come back, it’s possible it will no longer be there on your next visit.
And to us, that only means one thing: once you visit their location, make the most out of it!
3. Memento PDX
Merchandise: Trinkets, local artworks, gag gifts, pins, mugs, plush toys
Address: 3707 SE Hawthorne Blvd Portland, OR 97214
Contact Details: +1 503-235-1257
Business Hours: Monday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Memento has been a long-time favorite among locals, especially when it comes to gag gifts. They have a lot to offer if you’re looking for a gift for your funny friend or if you’re planning an innocent prank.
Other than that, they also offer usual gift items like cards, candles, pins, mugs, plush toys, and other special trinkets that will suit different kinds of people.
Exploring their store is definitely a fun experience, especially with all the quirky items they have on display. You will also enjoy their collection of artisan soaps and candles
However, their store isn’t as large as others on this list, so we encourage you to be careful while you browse, otherwise you might knock a few things over!
Their display is also a little bit unorganized for our liking, and while you won’t have too much of a hard time looking for what you need, it can be arranged better for customers to have an easier time.
Should you have trouble with that, their staff is eager to help you, whether or not you plan to shop in-store. You can also call them to make an order or request to shop virtually to make it more convenient for you.
Overall, they’re a fun place to visit, and you not having to visit them personally to shop is a much-appreciated bonus!
4. Gone West PDX
Merchandise: Accessories, homeware, beauty products, leather bags, sustainable products
Address: 3302 SE Division St Portland, OR 97202
Contact Details: +1 503-954-1849
Business Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Gone West is a small gift shop that caters to certain kinds of interests and personalities. Once you enter their shop, you’ll be met with lots of plants and other homeware.
This shop is definitely where you should be headed if your receiver is into wellness, plants, or sustainable living. But of course, you can always shop for yourself too!
They may be catering to a certain niche in the market, but their collection is well-curated and each product is of high quality.
Everything they sell—from their soaps to bamboo toothbrushes, accessories, and bags—all fit into their store’s identity. Gift shops usually sell random items with no rhyme or reason, so we appreciate the extra effort they put into their merchandise.
Of course, Gone West and what they have in-store isn’t for everyone. If you have no idea of what your receiver may want, this wouldn’t be the best option for you to visit, as there won’t be much for you to choose from.
Their items also lean towards the expensive side, and we do think it’s worth the price considering the level of quality you’ll get. But if you’re not willing to shell out a lot for a gift, it’s best for you to go elsewhere.
All that said, we do think they’re still worth a visit because they’re a shop unlike the others on this list!
5. Peachtree Gifts
Merchandise: Socks, mugs, souvenirs, stickers, toys, plush toys, puzzles, candy

Contact Details: +1 503-643-9730
Business Hours: Monday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Peachtree Gifts is a great all-around gift shop, and with their wide variety of available items, we have no doubt you’ll find something for your receiver!
They’re best known for their sock collection, which comes in all designs and illustrations, and we won’t be surprised if you take home a pair of your own.
We also like the variety of cards they have in stock, which has all events covered—from birthdays and weddings to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. If you’re in a rush to get a card, Peachtree would be your best.
They also sell candy and chocolates, and they have more in stock when it’s Easter or Halloween. Some of their candies are ones you wouldn’t find in grocery stores, and it’s worth a try if you’re looking to try some new sweets.
The store can get overwhelming with everything they have on display, and it isn’t the most organized either. It will most likely take you a couple of rounds to really look at everything because the items can be all over the place.
We’ve also found their customer service to be inconsistent, with some claiming that they were assisted but others reporting that they couldn’t find anyone to assist them, thus making their visit a bit difficult.
But if you’re an independent shopper who’d prefer to browse the displays on your own, then we are confident that you’ll have a great time here!
