The 5 Best Pet Grooming Services in Portland That’ll Treat Your Baby Like Royalty

  • Quality of Service: We looked into the overall standard of each grooming service, from basic baths to specialized styling. We also considered whether the services catered to different breeds, coat types, and pet sizes.
  • Range of Services: We considered how wide the grooming menu was. It’s crucial to find both essential packages and optional add-ons to meet different pet owners’ needs.
  • Value for Money: We looked into how each service was priced compared to its quality and range of offerings. We considered services that were transparent with their pricing and offered flexible payment options.
  • Convenience and Accessibility: We considered how accessible the grooming locations were, and assessed whether they had flexible hours and an easy booking system. Having mobile grooming services is also a major consideration.

I think everyone can agree with me when I say that Portland pets are practically celebs. You’ll see them walking through the Pearl District like models or lounging on cafe patios on Mississippi Avenue. Pretty on brand for Portland, right?

But with fame comes responsibilities. Because our fur babies are secretly stealing hearts here and there, we don’t want them looking like they just fought with a grizzly bear. We want them to look like royalty.

For our little princes and princesses, only the best groomers are worth looking into. They know how to style diva dogs and calm a nervous cat like pros. In short, these services make sure your pet gets nothing but the best.

How much do pet grooming services cost in Portland?

The cost of pet grooming services in Portland ranges from $30 to $70 per pet, depending on the package and any additional services. Most services would offer discounts for multiple pets. Prices vary largely, too, depending on the size of the pet.

Paws for Elegance ticked all the boxes in our checklist: affordable services, quality grooming, and top-notch accessibility. Walk-in rates are cheap, with basic services like nail trims and teeth brushing costing $12 and $14, respectively.

The place offers both dog and cat grooming, making it a versatile option for pet parents. We also like that they’ve been a long-standing member of the Better Business Bureau, which speaks to their credibility and professionalism.

Another notable service is their self-wash program. For pet owners who want to avoid messy at-home baths and have limited grooming equipment, this is a great choice. The service already comes fully stocked with tools, shampoo, and ergonomic tubs.

Speaking of products, we love their range that caters to different needs. Options include hypoallergenic formulas, odor control, and even skunk odor removal solutions.

If you prefer dropping by their location, you’ll definitely appreciate the area, as there are plenty of restaurants and shopping options nearby. The only trouble we’ve experienced so far is that they sometimes won’t return calls within the day, which can be a downside for busy pet parents needing urgent services.

Pros

  • Full-service grooming services
  • Reasonable walk-in pricing
  • Detailed grooming report cards
  • Offers self-serve dog washing
  • Offers loyalty rewards for self-wash clients
  • Specialty shampoos available
  • Convenient location with nearby amenities

Cons

  • Poor customer follow-ups
  • Minor hygiene concerns

As the name suggests, Furry Land Mobile is a solid option for mobile pet grooming services. Their approach is great – with a cage-free focus, pets are often calm while receiving one-on-one attention.

Services cover both dogs and cats of all sizes. Plus, thanks to their clear and upfront pricing, fur parents can easily plan ahead based on their pet’s size and breed. In general, though, we find their prices fair.

The range of services is great, but if we have to recommend a service, you may want to consider their grooming packages. Options are all inclusive, covering baths, blow drying, haircuts, and ear cleaning. In short, they cover all the essentials.

As for the quality of service, we were nothing but impressed. Not only do the pets look happy and calm, but the cuts were also consistent and amazing. Customers can, of course, request certain styles they prefer.

We’re just sad to note that there were a few instances of canceled schedules at the last minute. And since they focus more on full grooming, there’s little flexibility for pared-down services.

Pros

  • Mobile. Cage-free grooming
  • Full grooming services for cats and dogs
  • Clear starting prices
  • All-inclusive grooming packages
  • Easy online booking
  • Gift card options available
  • Consistent service quality

Cons

  • Minor issues of last-minute cancellations
  • Lack of service flexibility

No stress, no mess

“Alexis has been doing a great job on all 3 of my dogs (2 aussies & a Great Pyrenees) & now both cats are looking fabulous. Added bonus that she comes to me – no stress on the pups & no mess to clean up. Saved me tons of time & effort. Plus she’s great with them all.”

Excellent dog grooming

“This was my first experience with Furry Land Mobile Pet Grooming and it was wonderful. I’ve known Alexis many years and she is very experienced. On top of that, my dog lovers her a lot. She arrived on time and the grooming was excellent. It was also nice not having to drive back and forth to a business. I highly recommend this company!”

Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Grooming Arts is where pet owners stop for premium grooming services. That said, we’re already giving a heads-up – prices here are more expensive than average, with standard grooms starting at $145.

Despite this, the value for money is great and the quality of service can be hard to beat. They’re the only service we encountered where the groomers are certified by the International Professional Groomers, Inc. (IPG).

This is a globally recognized organization, which made us feel more confident in its credibility.

We definitely loved their specialized services that most groomers don’t even offer. Some examples include handstripping for terriers, breed profile grooming, and Asian Fusion styles.

The a la carte options are great for touch-ups, while their full grooming sessions are great for regular upkeep. They even have a puppy intro program, which provides a gentle introduction to grooming.

Keeping up with their premium-level services, their grooming office is quiet, organized, and private. For pets (and owners) who don’t like crowded, noisy salons, this is definitely a top pick.

Pros

  • One-on-one grooming sessions
  • Certified International Professional Groomers
  • Multiple grooming packages
  • Specialty services included
  • Puppy Intro Program offered
  • Flexible a la carte services
  • High-quality services
  • Quiet and relaxed grooming location
  • Strong scheduling system

Cons

  • High prices
  • Rigid cancellation policies

A work of art

“I’ve been taking our family pup to Grooming Arts since he was 13 weeks old. He’s now 2 1/2 years old and I can’t imagine taking him anywhere else. Their communication is great and he always looks perfect when they’re done. You can tell they take pride in their work. It is truly an art. Thank you!”

Treated with love

“We have been taking our Poms to Grooming Arts NW for 2 years and every time they do a fantastic job. Very skilled and worked wonders with our puppy’s “cotton candy fluff”. And both Poms like to go so we know they treat them with love.”

Focusing entirely on mobile pet grooming services, You Dirty Dog offers convenience and accessibility to Portland fur parents. Services are affordable and fast, which is mostly the reason why busy families love them.

The quality of grooming is great. After interviewing customers, we noted multiple instances of when they handled nervous dogs efficiently. In one case, they dealt with a heavily matted coat with ease and care.

The place focuses on personalized pampering with consistently good results. In fact, clients would often tell us that their pets feel like “teddy bears.” They’re tidy, fluffy, and styled based on their owner’s preferences.

Scheduling is easy, with friendly staff who make the experience fast and pleasant. Even the groomers themselves are easy to chat with. Their attitude and calm demeanor made the pets feel less anxious during the process.

Just take note that their service area is now pretty limited – they no longer cross the waterfront, which limits services to certain Portland residents. You may want to follow up with appointments too, as confirmation is occasionally unclear.

Pros

  • Convenient mobile grooming
  • Affordable rates
  • High-quality services
  • Excellent at handling demanding situations
  • Friendly scheduling support
  • Personalised grooming approach
  • Strong customer loyalty

Cons

  • Limited service area
  • Occasional nuclear scheduling confirmation

Serenity Mobile Grooming impressed us with their full-service packages, with services like bathing, nail trims, haircuts, and styling. There are also optional extras like de-matting, medicated soaks, and shave downs.

The place is trained to handle both dogs and cats, prioritizing a low-stress experience by avoiding cages. Plus, they value a safety-first approach, which reduces risks for nervous and difficult pets.

The quality of results is great – in fact, many clients praised how clean and fluffy their pets were. What’s equally important to us is how happy each pet was after each session, which speaks a lot about their approach.

As a mobile grooming service, we liked their fast arrival times, shortening average wait times for customers. Additionally, we’re satisfied with their service area range, covering communities like Beaverton, Tigard, Lake Oswego, and more.

Their pricing, however, may be a dealbreaker for most – small bread hair cuts range from $125 to $145, while large breeds can reach up to $230. But if you prefer a business that can easily tailor services to each pet, they’re still a good choice.

Pros

  • Convenient mobile services
  • Full-service grooming
  • Specializes in both dogs and cats
  • No cages, little waiting time
  • Low-stress grooming environment
  • Safe and hygienic approach
  • Consistently good results

Cons

  • High prices
  • Minor reports of scheduling issues

Amazing services

They are amazing!!!! The vet just commented on how good she smells, and how soft her fur is. They do it all, anal glands, nails, they even cut the hair in between the pads of her feet.
