Know that Security Public Storage’s monthly rates are quite expensive, even when you’re only renting small units. Your respite is that they regularly offer discounts and don’t charge surprise fees.

We find the storage options a bit limited, too. The Portland location typically caters to self-storage needs, meaning you’ll have to check out their other branches if you also wish to store your boat, RV, and car.

It bears knowing that West Coast needs a little tune-up on the customer service side. This particular Portland branch is relatively new, and we think that’s what caused the few communication and accessibility hiccups reported by clients we’ve talked to.

If they can improve on that, the location is an ideal storage facility. Moreover, they might be hard to beat because of their slightly more affordable rental rates.

Downtown residents and college students are likely to benefit the most from Extra Space Storage’s strategic location.
