Pros

  • Over 30 years of experience
  • Full range of tractor-trailer sizes, types and options
  • Over 35,000 well-maintained semi-trailers
  • 2022 53′ dry van paper spec trailers available
  • Easy drop off transactions (pick up, delivery, repositioning)
  • Cost-effective semi-trailers for rentals
  • Free quotations
  • Offers full-service maintenance

Cons

  • Additional charges for maintenance service

Mckinney Trailer Rentals offers a comprehensive selection of tractor trailer sizes, types, and options and is strategically located near key distribution points. One example is their Portland branch, which explains why Portlanders regard them as their go-to trailer rental company.

Actually, we heard about the different types of trailers available for rent in the city and were impressed by their variety. There are dry vans, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, drop decks, chassis, and storage trailers – not to mention specialized equipment like liftgate trailers.

They also have the latest kinds of trailers which we liked. In fact, they have new 2022 53′ dry van paper spec trailers, which have a unique spec for customers with heavy loads or paper rolls (to give you an idea).

Their reviews mostly include praises for their easy drop-off transactions, which we think are important if you need such equipment quickly. Their semi-trailer rentals, for example, provide emergency services, including – take note of this – full-service maintenance.

Speaking of their semi-trailers, it’s quite convenient if you’re looking for cost-effective solutions as well as the flexibility required to successfully manage your fleet. Getting a quote from them is also hassle-free so asking won’t literally cost you anything.

Now, since they do provide full-service trailer maintenance (only when necessary), additional charges are unavoidable. However, we still see this as a positive because it reduces downtime, and having them as technicians is a significant cost saving.

Pros

  • Trailer renting and leasing since 2005
  • Over 50,000 (nationwide) units equipped with the latest technology
  • Wide variety of trailers
  • Equipment equipped with real-time GPS tracking with geofencing
  • Online customer dashboard available
  • Fast and efficient delivery of track rentals

Cons

  • Customers are generally companies

Customers at Premier Trailer Leasing claims about the company’s excellent service (and the reviews also say so). We believe this is the case because they are one of the largest trailer leasing and rental companies in the country.

For starters, we’ve heard Portland residents rave about the quick and efficient rentals they offer, which is great news if you’re in a hurry. Not to mention, you can contact them for any load you need to transport because they have a wide range of trailers.

The real-time GPS tracking device on their equipment is our favorite aspect of their service. This will completely give their customers confidence in their monitoring while also managing their fleet, which is a fantastic deal, in our opinion.

Another plus for us is their online customer dashboard, which allows customers to easily check equipment availability. It’s simple, and you’ll save time and effort if you know they don’t have what you’re looking for right away.

Now, what’s required to obtain their track rentals? We’ve determined that businesses that have been in operation for at least two years and have a medium five-figure average bank balance or higher are all in good standing.

So, if you do not meet those requirements, it will be more difficult for you to obtain their services in general, which is a downside for us. They are, however, able (and willing) to evaluate credit applications for first-time customers, if necessary.

Pros

  • Over 59 years of experience in equipment rentals and other services
  • Wide range of equipment options (forklifts, trailers, ladders, pumps, sanders, etc.)
  • Wide variety of trailers (plus, accessories)
  • Rental showroom available in their SE Portland store
  • Smooth rental periods
  • Delivery and pick up

Cons

  • Overcharged customers for missing or damaged items

For over 59 years, Portland Rent All has provided rental equipment and services in the city. Their most popular service is equipment rental (not surprising), and we’re glad to hear that they offer a wide range of options, including trailers.

Speaking of which, customers can select from a variety of such equipment, including box and drop deck, dump, enclosed, and flatbed. Trailer accessories are also available for rent, so if you own one, you can still seek them if you’re missing a part.

When it comes to their rates, although they don’t really disclose them, we like the fact that they aren’t too expensive, based on the reviews. Customers, on the other hand, claim to have been overcharged for inconvenient damage they caused, which is a bit unfair.

Furthermore, we think their rental periods are generous, as clients can rent trailers (and other equipment) for up to four weeks in a row. That is, in our opinion, a significant factor to consider given that rentals are only supposed to be for a limited time.

On the plus side, delivery and pick-up of their equipment could be extremely convenient for the customer. For example, all rental items should be gathered in a single convenient location for pickup, while you may also pick up and return your rental items to their location if you prefer.

If you’re interested, Portland Rent All also provides party rentals (chairs, tents, tables) and sells used equipment. Regardless of these services, we believe they are a solid choice for trailer rentals since they’re now focusing on equipment rentals.

Pros

  • Decades of experience in the industry
  • Independent equipment rental company
  • Assists in looking for your needed trailer (if they don’t have it in store)
  • Affordable delivery and pick up of equipment services
  • Wide range of equipment available for rentals
  • Trailers of all kinds and size available

Cons

  • Minor inconsistencies with customer service
  • Poor feedback on turnaround times

This Portland-based independent equipment rental company has primarily served contractors, homeowners, and landscapers since 1953. As a result, Interstate Rentals, Inc. has become the go-to equipment rental company in the industry.

Now, we believe that the primary reason why independent companies like them are so significant is their ability to make decisions locally and quickly. Furthermore, they can deliver your desired equipment immediately without having to wait for the central branch.

The business is also friendly and genuinely interested in meeting your trailer rental needs, at least in our opinion. If they don’t have the trailer you’re looking for, we’ve heard they’re willing to help you find what you need from other companies.

On a side note, Interstate has received negative feedback regarding turnaround times. Previous customers have complained about them being at least an hour late with deliveries and providing poor customer service over the phone (anyway, it’s a one-time thing, so it’s fine).

As a plus, as the reviews indicate, they do provide affordable delivery and pick-up services for the equipment (good compared to big companies). The rental rates are also reasonable, so we find them a great choice if you’re a little too conscious of money.

Now, they, of course, do have a large variety of trailers – and it’s the first thing we considered actually. Not to mention the fact that they have other rental equipment, making them a convenient one-stop shop for equipment rentals.

Pros

  • 3 dumpster trailers available for renting
  • Rentals are approved by most HOAs
  • Hold approximately 90+ 33 gallon trash bags or 7 standard pickup truck loads
  • Affordable dump trailer rentals
  • Day rate includes delivery and hauling of materials

Cons

  • Dump trailers accommodate limited types of wastes
  • Maximum of 3-day rentals only
  • Additional charge for exceeded loads

If getting rid of waste and garbage is your primary concern when renting trailers, we recommend PDX Dump Trailers. This company specializes in such services, so you won’t have to worry about any other services interfering with your transaction with them.

To begin with, they have three dump trailers available, each of which is different in size. Those trailers can hold approximately 90+ 33-gallon trash bags or 7 standard pickup truck loads, which is pretty much a good capacity for this load.

Talking about their storage, materials weighing more than 2,000 lbs will be charged 6 cents per pound of overage. That is why we recommend that you do not exceed the capacity of the trailer, or better yet, rent another one.

Unfortunately, their dump trailers cannot accommodate all types of waste. They are, however, ideal for typical waste removal tasks such as garage cleanouts, bathroom, and kitchen remodels, spring cleaning, large yard cleanups, and so on.

The bad news is that their rental periods are only three days long, which is shorter than we expected. However, in order for everything to go smoothly, we recommend that you prepare your disposal before renting trailers from them.

Now, the affordable rentals they provide, ranging from $325 to $415 for the maximum day of rentals, make up for the bad news. The good news is that their day rate always includes delivery and hauling of up to 2,000 pounds of material, so overall, it’s relatively inexpensive.
