Maximize Your Hauling Power with the Best Utility Trailers in Portland

  • Durability and Build Quality: We looked for dealerships offering trailers made from high-quality materials to ensure they can withstand the rigors of frequent use and varying weather conditions.
  • Range of Trailers: We chose shops that offer a wide range of trailer sizes and load capacities to ensure they can accommodate various hauling needs.
  • Value for Money: We analyzed whether the utility trailer's price reflects its quality and features. We also gave extra points to shops offering long warranty.
  • Customer Service: We selected shops that have knowledgeable and helpful staff. It’s important that the staff can explain each trailer properly and provide clear guidance on selecting the right trailer.

Ever packed for a big camping trip, only to realize your car couldn’t handle the load? Or have you ever started a home project, and no matter how you rearranged things, nothing seemed to fit?

Well, I have. And let me tell you, I’ve never felt so frustrated making multiple trips just to move everything because I wasn’t smart enough to buy a utility trailer before I started working on my yard.

That’s why when I decided to remodel our basement into a home office, I knew I needed to find a utility trailer.

So, I asked the rest of the Rip City Review team for help and went around Portland searching for shops with the best utility trailers. After several trips and many interviews, here are the shops that made it to our list!

Super helpful hooking me up with options for securing my car to my trailer

“I started hauling my BRZ to Hooked on Driving events last year. Mike Rands at 99 West has been super helpful hooking me up with options for securing my car to my trailer, and had a custom “Towing Bridle” made to allow me to pull my car farther up my tilt trailer without re-hooking.”

Helped me set up my new trailer to fit my truck just right was professional and courteous

“Peggy and John were a pleasure to work with. They have great communication skills and very professional. When I drove over 300 miles to pick up my new ATC they held up their end of the deal and made sure I was 100% satisfied. I would highly recommend this trailer dealer. When I arrived and looked around at the quality of the trailers they sell and the cleanliness of the lot and the shop I knew I made the right choice. Even the guy that helped me set up my new trailer to fit my truck just right was professional and courteous. Thank you 99 west trailers for taking care of your customers the way it should be!”

Quality Trailer Inc. demonstrated impressive craftsmanship in their food trailers during my visit a few months ago. Their selection clearly shows a keen eye for detail and superior quality.

We appreciated seeing how they tailor each design to meet the specific needs of their clients, whether it’s for a food truck or a concession stand.

A particularly notable feature is when one of their staff told us about their financing options, which make it more feasible for aspiring business owners to invest in a high-quality trailer without overstretching their budget.

The financing process is straightforward and accessible, accommodating different financial situations.

Our experience with Quality Trailer Inc. was genuinely positive. It’s clear that they take pride in their work, making it easy to see why they’re a go-to for anyone in need of a reliable food trailer.

Produced and crafted a magnificent piece of equipment at a fair price

“Quality Trailers provided the BEST customer response and craftsmanship than any other vendor in the northwest!! My wife and I needed a custom ‘kitchen’ trailer for our business and the crew at Quality Trailers produced and crafted a magnificent piece of equipment with top quality appliances at a fair price.”

They understood my requirements and custom made entire trailer

“Quality Food Trailers built our food trailer and I can say they’re the best in the US. From the very first day entire team worked with me effortlessly. They understood my requirements and custom made entire trailer with custom window and cabinets etc. Even after we received the trailer they backed me up when health department asked us to change. Powell drove overnight from OR to here and modified all those things which health department asked us. I can only say one thing that now on all my future trailers will be with ONLY one company and that’s Quality Traliers Inc.”

When we first walked into Iron Eagle Trailer in Portland, OR, we were struck by the sheer variety of flatbed trailers they had on offer.

From lightweight tandem axle flatbeds to those built for heavy-duty tasks with gross weight ratings ranging from 7,000 to 14,000 lbs, they cater to a wide range of needs.

One model, in particular, caught my eye. It’s equipped with slide-in ramps and lockable storage, a thoughtful touch that makes transporting vehicles and equipment practical.

The sturdy design, especially the diamond plate fenders, seemed ready to withstand even the heaviest loads.

But as we looked closer, it became apparent that not all trailers were equal. While some customers raved about the durability, others suggested the craftsmanship could be improved for some of the flatbeds.

So, if you’re considering one of these flatbeds, we’d recommend assessing your needs and researching the specific models. Iron Eagle has a solid selection, but a little diligence goes a long way in ensuring you pick the right one.

Pros

  • Affordability
  • Variety of options
  • Helpful and knowledgeable staff
  • Durable material for heavy-duty trailer

Cons

  • Potential delays in claiming warranty
  • Quality inconsistency on some trailers

Great people to work with and a great price.

“Magnum 6.5 x 12. Excellent trailer. Only utility trailer that you can load a Can Am Spyder onto without bottoming out. Ordered from the factory with a 4 inch bed drop. Great people to work with and a great price.”

Well designed and built and rated from full highway speeds

“What a great trailer from Iron Eagle. Really well designed and built and rated from full highway speeds unlike many of the cheeper trailers out there. I noticed some flaking paint on the underside after about a year of ownership and they fixed the paint straight away. Excellent customer service!!”

Offered us a great value for the product and feel safe knowing they inspected it thoroughly

“Had a great experience purchasing a new RV with Adventure Trading RV. Bill went above and beyond to make sure our new trailer was operational and safe as well as explained it to us in detail during our walk through. Sarah in the front office helped us understand the entire process and Dusty helped us drive away with our new trailer. The team was honest and transparent along the way. We felt they offered us a great value for the product and feel safe knowing they inspected it thoroughly. We would definitely recommend and shop here again.”
