Pros

  • Specializes in bathroom and kitchen designs
  • Offers a comprehensive range of design services
  • Able to design commercial and residential spaces
  • Has a full-service interior design package
  • Consistently meets project timelines

Cons

  • Rates are on the expensive side

Garrison Hullinger Interior Design has one of our favorite work portfolios, and this applies to both commercial and residential clients. We’ve always been a fan of timeless and elegant designs and they definitely won our favor.

What’s immediately apparent about this firm is that they concentrate on bathroom and kitchen designs. Knowing this, we find them an exciting choice for clients looking to spice up their showroom kitchen (or private throne for that matter).

But their services aren’t just limited to these areas, in fact, they do a lot more extensive work than other companies. To give you an idea, they do interior designs for custom homes as well as commercial properties.

Other than this, it’s their comprehensive range of services that made them a compelling option for us. They offer a full-service interior design package as well as other additional services including project & consultant collaboration and lighting design.

With this set of services, we reckon that they’re ideal for both large-scale and small-scale projects. It doesn’t matter whether they tackle a project from start to finish or simply renovate an existing space to make it better for the owner.

Finally, with respectable technology for photo-realistic renderings and conceptual design & programming, they’re pretty much a winner. The rates can be a tough wall to cross though, so just keep that in mind for now.

Pros

  • Residential and commercial interior design
  • Specializes in kitchen and bathroom design/remodeling
  • Access and connections to a variety of locations for resources
  • Friendly pricing system (flat rates)
  • Competent team of designers
  • Complimentary first meeting

Cons

  • Minor inconsistencies with follow-ups of new appointments
  • Materials and labor for the construction excluded on their flat rate

For your residential and commercial interior design needs, Kim Gray Interiors has what it takes. We know this to be true since they do a full service in this field, plus they also specialize in a wide range of designs and styles.

Before anything else, we want to inform you that they specialize in remodeling and furnishing, most particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. This involves a comprehensive process that includes tile, flooring, furniture, paint, and more options.

What we think is another factor for effective design is their resources, and what a relief it is to see that they are managing them well. In fact, they source items from a variety of locations, giving us the impression that they have connections with the right businesses.

On the other hand, there are some issues regarding their inconsistencies with following up on new appointments, a major turn-off if you ask us. Well, since they’re a busy design firm, the only reason we can think of this is due to its established popularity.

It’s good news on their pricing system, seeing that they charge flat rates on both of their remodeling and furnishing services (flat rate per room). Unfortunately, this does not include materials and labor for the construction aspect.

Lastly, their team is also able to blend existing pieces needed to complete each space, which is very helpful if you’re on a tight budget. Actually, your first meeting with them is complementary and will be held at your own home, for your comfort.

Pros

  • Over 30 years experience in interior designing
  • Impressive portfolio of various interior projects from across the world
  • Attention to detail design process
  • Effective project management system
  • Friendly pricing system
  • Reputable working timeline

Cons

  • No style specialization
  • Minor issues with communication

Allison Smith’s Design has a fascinating portfolio: various interior projects from Portland to Beijing, and places in between. Knowing that they’ve been doing this for over 30 years, we are certainly not surprised at all with this achievement.

To achieve the desired end result of a project, we believe in the importance of a smooth process, and they, thankfully, passed it all. From the consultation process (virtual & in-person) to the cost analysis and completion – we like it all.

Additionally, they also won our favor when it comes to honest quotations, a list of contractors, and a breakdown of all costs (materials, labor, etc). This, honestly, reflects them as an effective project manager, while still prioritizing the design style you wanted.

Speaking of which, we realized that they don’t specialize in any style at all. While this is quite an issue for some clients, it’s reassuring that they’re quite versatile with designs, coupled with a focus on quality at any price point or budget.

To add more to this positive note, they actually finish a project on the agreed schedule, at least to our knowledge at this point. This is all thanks to the workers/contractors they have, not to mention, their hands-on creative designers.

There are just these problems we’ve heard of, mostly on the issue of communication. Some claim that they don’t cater to repairing damaged materials after the completion of a project, and frankly, we think they need to give attention to this matter.

Pros

  • Wide ladder of services encompassing
  • Offers commercial, residential, and graphic design services
  • Provides practical design packages
  • Offers introductory consultation of design
  • Holistic approach to both residential and commercial design
  • Various consultation options

Cons

  • Few poor notes regarding their demanding payment system

We understand that not everyone has the luxury of hiring an interior designer and this very statement is what drove us to put Wise Design on this list. This is simply because they offer practical design packages.

First things first, they offer introductory consultations to test the waters, without the investment of a full-service project. This, we think, would be a perfect fit for DIYers embarking on their first home remodel (or if you’ve never worked with an interior designer before).

You can choose amongst the consultation options available: 90-minute basic design; kitchen and bath; one room; or even the ‘design for a day’ they have. Said consultations are ranging from $350 to $1,500 (price varies by space), which is relatively cheaper than the competition.

Now, let’s talk about the design packages they offer, which is the best thing about them. They have two choices for this matter: the Full-Service Design and Custom Design Package, which both can be availed at reasonable rates, fortunately.

Although they obviously value their clients’ money, there were still poor notes regarding their demanding payment system. However, we found that this kind of affair doesn’t necessarily affect the overall quality of the service they provide, which we are thankful for.

Finally, with over 10 years of design experience (together with their positive impact locally and nationally), we think Wise Design is a smart choice for your interior design needs. It’s all in their name, after all.

Pros

  • Features global influences in their interior designs
  • Uses space planning as main design element
  • Has a signature classic timeless design
  • Custom interior design package available
  • Offers a design for the DIY Guru’ service
  • Fairly competitive rates

Cons

  • Minor issues regarding inconsistencies of designs

The global influences on Kevin Twitty Interiors’ design is one of the many reasons you may want to consider their service. Not only that, we have been made aware of their unique design elements, which goes without saying as an important criterion of recommendation.

In line with this, we approved of their design prices, seeing the drastic changes they do to spaces. In addition to that, they’re well-versed in sourcing special furniture pieces, art pieces, and other decoratives, which is always a good thing.

We also appreciate the signature style they pull off with every project they work on. Specifically, you can expect them to carry out classic timeless designs that do not overtake the environment but complemented the natural elements already present.

Fortunately, if you ever wish to have customized ones (tailored to your taste), which is far from the design they are known for, they can also make that happen. It can be discussed in the initial consultation process of their design services.

Another thing we love is their meticulous way of handling every design journey. Well, it’s quite natural to depend on this stage for your design needs, but what wins our favor is their commitment to providing a new and unique package just for you.

On top of it all, we salute their customer care service since they always make a way to provide for budget-conscious people. The firm has a ‘Design for the DIY Guru’ service, which is a road map to help you implement your own finds into your design.
