The Top 5 Women’s Health Clinics in Portland
How We Picked
Service
A lot of things fall in this category. Do they practice inclusion, for instance? This is important to make sure you won’t face any discrimination regardless of your sexual orientation, race, etc. Do they have a variety of services that you can choose from? Aside from these, we also considered how professional the staff of the clinic is.
Facilities
The facility of a women’s health clinic also plays a factor. We wanted to make sure they have good sanitation practice, a variety of equipment, and a suitable atmosphere that would help put patients at ease.
Accessibility
A clinic’s accessibility was also considered. This is because it’s important that the location is easy to get to and that there’s access to easy parking.

Pros
- Great atmosphere
- Attentive and communicative doctors
- Helpful with payment plans
Cons
- Customer service could be improved
One of the reasons we added the Women’s Healthcare Clinic of Oregon to our list of top women’s health clinics in Portland is the professionalism their doctors displayed.
When we had the chance to interview several women who had experiences here, a lot of them were pleased with their experience with the doctors.
This is because they felt like the doctors listened to their concerns thoroughly. The appointments never felt rushed just so the doctors could attend to the next patient, at least according to the people we talked to.
The doctors also allocated time to answer patients’ questions or concerns to help them with the next steps.
While we think this should be a given when it comes to doctor’s appointments, we found that not a lot of medical professionals are like this.
Most of the female members of our staff could list a few previous bad experiences when a doctor just brushed off our inquiries and complaints. That’s why we were glad that all of those we interviewed had the opposite experience at this particular clinic.
We want to note the atmosphere here too. When we went to the clinic, it felt peaceful even though there were several people already present.
Some of the people we talked to also greatly appreciated how this clinic helped communicate with their insurance company. They even set up a payment plan to help patients with the cost.
If there’s one disadvantage to this clinic that we’ve gathered from several people, it would be its customer service. This is particularly when it comes to the receptionists.
A few people told us that the receptionists were rude. While this didn’t seem to happen a lot, we think this is still something to be wary about.

Pros
- Provides free educational resources
- Offers a lot of different services
- Has a virtual visit option
- Easy booking process
- Great website search engine
Cons
- Not a diverse group of doctors
- Complaints about rude staff
If you’re looking for free educational resources, Providence Women’s Clinic provides a lot of those on its website.
This is particularly concerning pregnancy. They explain extensively what happens each trimester, how to prepare for delivery, and more. They also have an app for pregnancy and parenting!
Although not free, this women’s health clinic also offers classes about birthing and preparation. It’s quite easy to book and more often than not, there are spaces available.
The prices of the classes are also affordable, which is a plus.
Another reason why we included this clinic on our list is that it has such a good variety of services and procedures. From dermatology and cardiovascular care to mental health and acupuncture, you are most likely to find what you need in this clinic.
A lot of the people we talked to found it quite easy to book an appointment here. This is because you can easily do so from their website.
Additionally, they have a virtual visit option where you can just talk to your doctors online. While some doctors don’t have this option, there are still a lot of others who cater to it.
Their search engine is quite smart too because you can click on several filters like what languages your doctor should know, medical groups they’re a part of, insurance they accept, and more.
Having these filters would help lead you to the best doctor for you even those in different clinics.
If we had to nitpick, though, we found that the doctors who are employed in this particular clinic are not the most diverse group of people.
If you’re a person of color, you might feel more inclined to go elsewhere, which is understandable.
Another thing we think is worth noting about this clinic is that there were some patients we interviewed who mentioned there were rude staff. We didn’t experience this one in particular during our visits, however.

Pros
- Proactive doctors
- Useful online portal
- Easy to pay online
- Incredible midwives
Cons
- Problems with scheduling staff
A lot of the patients at Women’s Healthcare Associates whom we had the chance to interview mentioned a lot of great things about this clinic.
To start with, for example, it seems that most people enjoyed the convenience being offered here.
One of the reasons they mentioned this is that this women’s health clinic’s website has an online portal. By signing in, you’ll be able to see your medical history and other important information.
It’s quite handy to have all the needed details in one space, so you don’t have to go through the trouble of your paperwork getting lost.
Additionally, it’s easy to pay on their website without signing up for your account. All you need is the account number and the guarantor’s last name.
Another thing that people love about this clinic is that they have well-regarded midwives. We’ve received a lot of remarks that midwives here are highly skilled and attentive.
While it should be expected, it’s still worth highlighting because of the number of people we heard this from.
Anyway, if there’s something this clinic should improve on, it’s its scheduling staff. Several people complained about the scheduling process, saying their appointment was canceled at the last minute.

Pros
- A lot of returning patients
- Free parking
- Welcoming staff
- Easy scheduling process
- Great environment
Cons
- Website could be improved
A lot of people who consider themselves patients at Joya Women’s Healthcare seem to be returning ones. This is notable because it means these people have placed a lot of trust in this clinic due to the constant satisfaction that they’ve received.
Moreover, it’s a sign that Joya is consistent with how they provide their service, so a lot of patients come back to find themselves tended to satisfactorily with each visit.
A lot of patients also reported feeling welcomed by the staff. From the receptionist to the doctors, it seems that this is the norm at this women’s health clinic.
We love that patients already feel well taken care of the moment they talk to the front desk. This is a good business practice because a huge percentage of a customer’s satisfaction could be based on first impressions.
It’s also quite easy to book an appointment here. They’re quite flexible with scheduling, so they can almost always fit you in depending on the time slot when you’re most available.
Incidentally, we particularly love the environment here. It’s quite serene, which can help patients feel relaxed as they wait for their appointment.
However, we can’t help but point out that their website design needs improvement. It seems outdated and unfitting for a women’s health clinic, and also makes them look less credible than they are.

Pros
- Various available services
- Doctors with good listening skills
- Convenient client portal
- Can give estimated costs
Cons
- Disorganized scheduling staff
One of the strengths of the OHSU Center for Women’s Health is their doctors’ good listening skills. This is according to those of their patients whom we interviewed.
To our pleasant surprise, most of them commended the doctors. It seems that the doctors made the patients feel heard when it comes to their health issues.
We consider this especially important because it also eases patients’ minds and assures them that their needs are being prioritized.
Another thing that people love about their experience here is that they find it quite convenient to see their medical history on their accounts.
It’s also handy that you can pay on their website without signing in.
We think the most convenient thing about their website, though, is how they can calculate estimated costs depending on the service you’ll be getting.
But first, they will ask you for information such as your insurance details.
We’re noting this fact because a healthcare provider giving you cost estimates online is not usually heard of. It’s pretty useful as it lets you know if it exceeds your budget.
Overall, there were a lot of advantages to choosing this women’s health clinic. However, we also received some complaints from their previous patients.
Most people who had complaints mentioned the scheduling staff. They felt that the staff was disorganized because they would reschedule patients without contacting them.
The staff also sometimes failed to get back to patients, which makes it seem that they also need to improve their communication skills.
