The 5 Best Business Card Printing in Portland

How We Picked

Service

We included business card printing services with exceptional service. This means that they respond fast and provide the output at the said time.

Product

We took the product itself into consideration to make sure that their clients will be satisfied with their work. We considered the quality and creativity of their past work.

Cost

Creating a business card can get expensive, so we also wanted to consider if the cost satisfies the quality of the output.

Pros

  • Very fast response time
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Openly supports the environment

Cons

  • Only accepts a minimum of 100 cards

One of the reasons we added Paperjam Press to the list of best business card printing in Portland is that they have interesting values behind a solid business.

For example, they pride themselves on being a company that supports the community. They even aid in the funding of Beaumont Middle school’s music classes.

In addition, they are known for paying their employees a livable wage. We also appreciate the fact that they help protect the environment by using Blue Sky energy that comes from wind and solar power.

They also participate in recycling by repurposing their scraps and other spare materials into note cards and notepads. They will also use repurposed boxes to ship items to customers.

Of course, Paperjam Press’s values aren’t the only reason they made this list. Their actual services are even more worthwhile.

A lot of their clients praised their response time. We couldn’t help but agree as they were able to answer our inquiries and concerns in a short period, showing they’re attentive to their customers via email.

Their communication skills also help avoid miscommunication, so we were able to receive exactly what we asked for.

They provide quality service and output with a surprisingly affordable price tag.

However, if you’re only looking to get a few business cards done because you just want to try them out or you just really need a few, you might need to reconsider.

They only accept a minimum of 100 business cards to be printed. We think that this is understandable, but it could be discouraging for some so we thought it was important to note.

Pros

  • Affordable pricing
  • Open everyday
  • Their store is accessible

Cons

  • Some reports of unprofessionalism

Rebecca Peters, the person behind Reb Peters Press, has a degree in printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. Before moving to Portland, she started Reb Peters Press in Oakland in 2009.

Aside from business cards, they also offer tasteful letter print for wedding invitations, birth announcements, menus, and more.

They can make designs customized just for you, print what you made, or give their pre-made templates a little edit to accommodate your needs.

If you happen to read this from outside Portland, you’d be pleased to know they also offer their services to those outside the area. All you need is to send them an email about what you want to be done.

If you’re someone who cares about the environment, it’s worth noting that they also provide eco-friendly, tree-papers that are made from cotton, and recycled coaster stock.

Upon the request of the customer, they can also source hand-made and specialty papers.

Aside from these, they also do scoring, embossing, folding, design consults, die-cutting, and blind deboss.

When we reached out to some of their past clients, a lot of them talked about the high-quality work that Reb Peters Press provided them. A few commented about the uniqueness of the designs.

In our case, we particularly loved how the company updated us every step of the way to avoid miscommunication. We think that’s why a lot of people are also satisfied with the results.

A lot of people also commented on receiving their order on time and the company’s affordability.

However, we also received a few remarks about their unprofessionalism over the phone. This might be an incident that needs to be further investigated, so we’re not too quick on ruling them out.

After all, we had a lovely experience and would recommend Reb Peters Press to anyone looking to get printing done.

Pros

  • Easily accessible
  • Great customer service
  • Fast turnaround time
  • Very responsive
  • Environmentally conscious

Cons

  • Closed on the weekends
  • Instagram account needs improvement

If you’re in the process of hunting down woman-owned businesses in hopes of giving them more support, Symbiosis Printing might just be another thing to add to your list.

Being just 10 minutes away from Downtown Portland, we found them to be quite accessible. Always a plus, as far as we’re concerned.

We also love how they’re conscious in terms of environmental and social matters.

They use the non-petroleum-based toner from Canon, so you can be assured that it’s easily recyclable and a lot less toxic. They avoid inks that are petroleum-based and made of soy.

(If you’re wondering why they avoid soy inks, it turns out that Soy needs more petroleum when made, which emits Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the environment.)

They also offer papers that don’t harm the environment such as Mohawk Renewal Fine Paper, Neenah Environment PC 100, Domtar Cougar and Lynx WWF, and more. Some of these are made with recycled paper or a mix of it and post-consumer waste.

When we talked to their past customers, a few raved about their great service, which didn’t surprise us after our experience with the company.

In our test job for them, Symbiosis Printing explained the printing process to us in detail, and we think that most of their customers have had a similar experience.

Clients also talked about the printers’ knowledge of their craft and their obvious love for it. Their impression was that the company worked fast and met deadlines consistently.

However, we noticed something that needs improvement. Looking at their social media site while we were on the lookout for the best business card printing in Portland made us think it doesn’t say a lot about their capabilities.

It doesn’t showcase a lot of their skill, which we think is important if you’re providing services that rely on aesthetics.

Nevertheless, having experienced Symbiosis Printing’s skills first-hand, we can vouch for their great skills and exceptional service.

Pros

  • Affordable pricing
  • A lot of options regarding service
  • Responsive
  • Great service

Cons

  • Might not be for rush jobs

DocuMart is a major full-service print solutions company. They have a lot of service options, which is one of the first things that caught our attention.

Another thing that we like about them is that they try to stay competitive in their technology. We love how they continue to upgrade their printing equipment to cater to complex needs.

Their past clients expressed their appreciation for finally being able to find an affordable place to get printing done. This makes sense: DocuMart is one of the cheaper options we could find out there without compromising quality.

We think this is why they have a lot of repeat customers go to them no matter what kind of printing they want to have done.

Their ability to respond fast to emails deserves praise too. We didn’t have to wait for a long time before DocuMart addressed our concerns and attended to our needs.

However, we think it’s important to note that we also received word from past customers about having problems with them concerning more urgent matters.

Some experienced receiving a call from them saying that their printer broke. While this wouldn’t be an issue if there wasn’t a specific deadline, it could certainly be a hindrance if you want to receive your order as soon as possible.

We think that they might not be for rush jobs.

However, if you’re looking for an affordable printing place and you’re not especially in a hurry, we highly recommend you try DocuMart.

Pros

  • Especially accessible to Portland State University students
  • Fast printing
  • Can adjust to your budget

Cons

  • Some complaints about the service in our survey

We believe REDe Print n Shop’s strongest selling point is how accessible they are. Being in the heart of Downtown Portland, the shop is quite easy to find and navigate.

If you’re from Portland State University, we’re quite sure you’ve heard of this place already, as it’s located in the university’s grounds. Don’t worry if you’re not a student, though: they also cater to business professionals, artists, etc.

Aside from printing business cards, they also offer services such as product photography, binding, laminating, fold and cut, and more.

They also have a graphic design service through which they can create a design for anything you need. Whether it be business cards or flyers, they can do it for $35/hour.

We think this is particularly handy so that you don’t need to go to two different places to get your business cards done.

And if you have tight budget constraints, they are also willing to adjust as needed (a point of flexibility that has won them a lot of fans).

If you’re looking to print some documents while you’re there, note that they also accept walk-in clients and can quickly print those for you.

A lot of the people we talked to said that they were fast and efficient. Some mentioned that it was obvious that they were knowledgeable.

However, some mentioned the rudeness of some staff. They may have different employees now because we had a different experience.

We do think that this is still something to consider if you want to be ensured exceptional service each time you go there.

Nevertheless, we still recommend REDe Print n Shop to anyone looking for something more accessible and budget-friendly.
