Pros
- Can accommodate up to 550 guests
- Room for 200-person seated dinner available
- Adapts to any kind of motif/theme
- Equipped with a sound system, lightings, chairs and tables
- Catering is available
- Reasonable pricing system
Cons
- Poor parking system
The Evergreen landed at number one on our list for its flexibility to host any kind of event. Be it a wedding, corporate parties, music events, birthday parties – you name it – we found that this space can host a variety of events.
First things first, Evergreen can carry a capacity of up to 550 people, plus they have room for a 200-person seated dinner. So whether it’s a big or small function, they can adapt based on the client’s needs which is always a plus for us.
Now, what really caught our attention (and we think you’ll love it too), is the infrastructure they offer. From its historic, restored details to state-of-the-art updates, they can merge every motif such as new with old, modern with classic, comfort with elegance, and more.
We would also like to highlight how generous they are with the amenities, an additional winning point for us. You don’t have to worry about any other event necessities like catering, chairs and tables (of course), or lightning and sounds.
Although we’re not aware of their exact pricing system, most of their reviews point out that they have a fair and reasonable one. However, it’s definitely out of the league for some that are on a tight budget, so you might want to hold off before booking.
The only drawback we’ve heard of is the awful parking space they have. Based on what we’ve gathered, it’s quite small, so it’s often full, especially at a big event – we suggest you make arrangements for that when you consider their service!
2. Bar West

Pros
- Warm and welcoming restaurant & event space
- Two rooms available for events
- Amenities include audio and visual systems, in-house rentals, mobile bar, catering, etc.
- Friendly pricing system
- On-site large and private parking lot
Cons
- Limited number of capacity/small events
You might think that Bar West is a place for nightlife (it’s in the name, isn’t it?), but believe it or not, they can be a place for every occasion. Their cocktail menu is amazing, just like their Italian-inspired Northwest cuisine, almost just as good as their event space.
Speaking of which, West offers two rooms (North Room & South Room) where you can hold an event. Both rooms are ideal for certain events: the North is for wedding receptions and cocktail parties, while the South is for private dining gatherings.
Even though the place has two rooms available for special occasions, it’s still not enough to host big events. Their North, being the main event space, can only accommodate up to 70 seats, and the other South’s capacity is limited to 32 seats.
Fortunately, amenities with them are overflowing – from having flexible and customized menus, audio and visual systems, and, of course, mobile bars. They also take care of modern furnishings for all kinds of events which makes them a complete package for celebrations.
Since their event space is small, you can actually kind of expect a cheaper price for rent compared to big function halls. A thousand dollars is enough for a whole day of activities in their main event space, and that already includes food and beverages.
Lastly, they have a large private parking lot for their customers, which is actually kind of a bummer since their event space is quite the opposite. But hey, there might actually be an overwhelming crowd at their popular restaurant.
3. Everett West

Pros
- Portland’s newest urban event space
- Partnered with event designers and coordinators
- Audiovisual, decorations, and catering included
- Private dining available
- Has a private outdoor patio
- Perfect wedding venue (as per the reviews)
Cons
- Too spacious (for smaller events)
- Rates unavailable
If you’re looking for a space to hold any type of event where you don’t have to worry about every single detail, then Everett West might be for you. It’s among the newest urban event spaces in Portland, which adds a bit of thrill to the whole transaction.
To start off, they’re partnered with event designers and coordinators, which can all help you with your event planning. Well, as much as you need a perfect space for your occasion, these people can simplify everything for you (great for busy adults who rarely have free time).
On top of it all, you can sigh with relief since they have everything under control when it comes to sound systems, decorations, and florals (if needed). With all of these, there’s little to worry about, although it erases a bit of customization on your part.
Additionally, we’ve heard (from reviews) that this place is ideal for weddings since it does offer a range of possibilities (yes, it’s quite spacious). Regardless of how small or large your event is, their event space can host your special day.
Did we mention that this is an urban event space already – bricks abound, as do reclaimed wood walls, poured concrete floors, and gleaming chandeliers? But what we really like about them is their private outdoor patio, where your event guests can relax or take in some fresh air.
On our final note, we think you’ll also like their catering, which is one of the great amenities you can enjoy. Well, they only serve Artemis Foods, Portland’s best (in our humble opinion) local and sustainable catering company.
4. Opal 28

Pros
- Vintage property perfect for weddings, social events, corporate events
- Includes a private patio, a built-in bar, and in-house catering
- Upstairs overnight accommodations are available
- Rates will be determined prior to the event and pending final details.
- Strict payment policies
- Provides staffing to assist
Cons
- Small venue capacity
Opal 28’s vintage property space can host any style of event that you like. From birthday dance parties and elegant wedding ceremonies. to formal seated dinners and even corporate meetings, Opal’s got your back.
With all the events they can put up, holding social events (birthday, baby shower, graduation, anniversary) here is actually the most well-liked. They can accommodate a maximum of 125 guests, which is quite alright but limiting for certain occasions (say corporate events).
Friendly tip: they’re very strict when it comes to payment policies and other contracts as well. Although event rates differ, Opal 28 requires a $1,000 non-refundable deposit due at booking to secure the date and time of an event.
Speaking of the event rate, you can expect the usual stuff that comes with it like chairs and tables, and a sound system. But what’s unique is that they work closely with The Party Place and West Coast Rentals, so you can request any additional items.
There’s just this poor note which refers to their previous customers being annoyed with the noise that comes from their upstairs accommodation. Well, there are apartments up there that have been converted into fully furnished vacation rentals – you can imagine the ruckus.
But what’s great about that is that those rentals work great for out-of-town guests and/or as a place to get ready for your party. Just don’t get surprised by the additional payments you will provide as, of course, accommodation is rarely free.

Pros
- Contemporary event space in Portland’s Pearl District (ideal location, near downtown)
- Has a flexible floor plan to accommodate any kind of event
- Features a sunken banquet room accented
- Partnered with Pearl Catering
- Connections with rentals
- Competitive pricing system
Cons
- Minor inconsistencies with customer service
The Urban Studio in Portland’s Pearl District is one of the contemporary event spaces in the area. They’re like the usual event venues that offer a place for private parties, weddings, and corporate functions, but there’s something more that makes them stand out.
For instance, they have a flexible floor plan to accommodate any kind of event. There’s the reception, the banquet room, the bar (for cocktail parties), and an open loft – all of which can be transformed to whichever occasion it is you want to hold.
The place’s overall ambiance is something to look forward to. We personally fell in love with their historic building (the place has been a staple since the early 1900s) since it maintains some of the features like large windows and exposed ceilings.
In addition to all of that, the event venue is actually in a great location since it’s located in the Pearl and is close to downtown. In fact, there’s a garage door at Urban Studio that opens to the sidewalk on NW 10th Ave with the Portland Streetcar just steps away.
However, there were some minor hiccups with this event space, and they were regarding their inconsistencies with customer service. There was this incident (according to the reviews) of their inoperable sound system, which really is a turn-off if we’re being blunt.
Fortunately, the latest feedback the place has been receiving is actually wonderful and reflects their improved system. It’s also best to note that they serve delicious foods through a customized menu tailored for you and your guests, which makes things slightly better for us.

Pros
- Excellent customer service
- Beautiful space
- Great food
Cons
- Prices not readily available
Coopers Hall Winery and Taproom is a sustainable urban winery and taproom, as well as a special events and wedding venue.
The place offers exceptional hospitality to all their guests and it’s one of the reasons why they’ve garnered a spot in our list.
There are many other reasons as to why we think they’re worth considering, like their dedicated team and multiple venue spaces to choose from for weddings and other events. They can accommodate a wide range of events from corporate to weddings, and all others.
What we like about the space is how it can fit well for a party but gives an intimate feel at the same time.
Food is part of their offerings and it’s something guests keep raving about! They have incredible food and everything is prepared to the utmost perfection.
We love how on top of their game their coordinators are. They’ll make sure everything goes smoothly on the day of your event.
We’ve heard the same sentiments from past clients and their guests—the space is beautiful, the food is incredible and service is exceptional. We highly recommend!
