5 Best RV Sales Services in Portland

5 Best RV Sales Services in Portland

How we picked

Range of products

We selected dealers with a broad selection of RVs so customers can have more options. Plus points if they also sell parts and components for repairs.

Location

We selected dealers located in easy-to-access places. RV sellers in the main city are few, so we also picked companies that are located in nearby surrounding areas.

Reputation

We gauge the company’s reputation score by looking at its credentials and length of industry experience. We picked those that carry respectable brands and have been in the business for decades.

Customer service

We chose companies that are responsive and helpful, given that buying RVs and processing warranty claims can be complex.

Pros

  • Wide selection of RVs
  • Great shop location
  • Neatly organized listing
  • Financing available

Cons

  • After-sales could use some improvement
  • Possible communication hiccups

Looking for the perfect RV can be challenging, but Lazydays RV makes it a bit easier with its large and orderly selection of trailers.

The company carries top brands from Airstream to Newmar to Nexus. And if you want to save some bucks, you can also check out their used RVs.

We love that Lazydays had their available RVs neatly sorted by type on their website. The system makes shopping and decision-making much more convenient for prospective customers.

We also appreciate the one-stop-hub appeal of Lazydays. Apart from buying RVs, you can hire them for maintenance and repair and buy parts and accessories from their easy-to-access shop.

However, the company has to brush up on its customer service side. They could use a bit of improvement on response and turnaround.

Clients we’ve talked to point to cracks in the after-sales services, such as appointments being rescheduled and slow repairs.

The holdups may be due to the many customers Lazydays serve, but we do hope they can switch gears quickly and run an efficient system to keep their reputation intact.

Also, calling their lines might be disappointing at times. If too busy, clients might be directed to voicemail.

Pros

  • Over seven-decade industry experience
  • Extensive RV selection
  • Offers financing
  • Informative and well-organized website

Cons

  • Possible delayed responses to client concerns
  • Part replacement or repairs might take a while

If you think your requirement for RVs is a bit difficult to satisfy, Curtis Trailers has your back. After all, the company has one of the most extensive collections of new and used trailers in the city.

Part of it is thanks to the family business being in the industry for over 70 years, spanning three generations. They’re also a full-service RV shop, meaning they offer repairs and sell parts.

We love that the company observes a one-transaction, one-person system, meaning you will work with one representative throughout the sales process. It’s easier that way, as it keeps communication hiccups to a minimum.

That said, Curtis Trailers isn’t 100% immune to delayed responses. We found that they can miss being prompt when addressing after-sales requests, particularly repairs.

We attribute these few misses to the company having to handle various services from selling to maintaining to repairing the vehicles, so the delays are understandable.

However, clients who can’t deal with several weeks of waiting can feel ignored, so shopping around more responsive dealers may be the better option.

3. Family Fun RV

Pros

  • Well-put together inventory list
  • Price estimates can be generated online
  • No-pressure policy
  • Slightly more affordable RVs

Cons

  • Location isn’t in the main city
  • Not-so-prompt responses on repair requests

With so many makes and models to choose from, it can be challenging to pinpoint the RV that best fits your family. Fortunately, Family Fun RV makes it easier with its detailed online inventory list.

We love that each RV specs list comes with floor plans of the vehicle interior. Space configurations work differently for each family, and seeing the layout right from the get-go makes it simpler to narrow down choices.

We also appreciate you can calculate the estimated payment for each vehicle through the company’s webpage. That said, contacting Family Fun is the better move if you want a more accurate quote.

We would have loved it more had the dealer been clear with its payment guidelines such as deposit returns and warranty periods, as these aren’t available online.

To be on the safe side, you’ll need to confirm these financial details again and again and follow up with the company.

Responses to repair requests can also take some time, so make sure to pack a lot of patience.

4. Funtime RV

Pros

  • Offers virtual RV tours
  • Financing available
  • Delivers RV units anywhere in Oregon
  • Sales office open daily

Cons

  • Limited inventory
  • Location a bit far from downtown

If you’re used to virtual transactions, Funtime RV may be the right dealer for you.

The company makes good use of the Internet by bringing their whole inventory online and allowing you to take a virtual tour of the RVs. It makes for easier shopping around minus the physical legwork.

Each product page also includes the specifications, description, and features of the RV, so you can begin comparing the vehicles even without the help of the company’s salespeople.

Of course, prospective buyers are always welcome to call Funtime and discuss their options with the sales team.

What we find most convenient is that Funtime will deliver your RV to your home. That’s good news if you live in the main city, as the company’s office is located in the nearby Portland metro area of Tualatin, over 20 minutes from downtown.

What we see as a downside is that RV services are done on-site, meaning you’ll likely need to bring the vehicle to Tualatin. That can also result in an uncertain waiting time since you’re likely not the only customer needing repairs.

Funtime also carries fewer brands compared to more senior dealers, so you might have a more limited selection. The few they named include Fleetwood, Forest River, Renegade, Nexus, and Cruiser RV.

5. White House Motors

Pros

  • Possible rare finds
  • More affordable
  • Several financing options available
  • Accessible office location

Cons

  • Limited selection
  • Appointment required for visits

Buyers on a budget may want to consider used RVs instead, and White House Motors is one of the companies to check out.

The 14-year-old dealer sells RVs, particularly motorhomes, and cars. As their inventory is composed of used vehicles, you can expect to find rare or old makes and models.

We love that the company has a list of its motorhomes up online, complete with their price tags. However, the posted collection is incomplete, so you’ll have to call them to confirm if they house the RV you want.

It’s reassuring that White House Motors handpick their secondhand vehicles, putting real effort into reselling only the best motorhomes as much as possible. It’s a great bonus that the units are far more affordable, too.

It can be a hassle to visit their motor pool, though. You’ll need to book an appointment first and have to drive a bit, as the units are housed in Lake Oswego.
