How We Picked
Can the production quality pass industry standards? Does the work look high-end? Does the sound quality sound great? Do they know how to work with lighting? Under this, we also considered the overall aesthetics of their outputs.
To have a great working experience with the videographers, we also kept their work ethics in mind. Do they respond fast? Do they have a friendly attitude?
We also considered how much of an expert they are by basing it on their portfolio, past experiences, and years in the business.
We think that their process should also be thought about. We based this on how fast they can meet deadlines.
1. Candy Glass Productions
|ADDRESS||2552 NW Vaughn St UNIT E, Portland, OR|

|OPERATING HOURS||Monday – Friday 10AM – 5PM|
Saturday and Sunday Closed
|Years in the business||4.5/5|
One of the reasons we added Candy Glass Productions to our list of best videographers in Portland is their fast turnaround time.
They’ve worked with weddings that lasted for days, but they were still able to deliver the output clients love within the agreed deadline.
A lot of the clients that we talked to also mentioned that they were great at capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments during the client’s special days.
We think this is because the number of photographers that they send to you is perfect for the size of the event.
Most video production services only have one videographer, which is also not necessarily a bad thing.
Most clients also mentioned that Candy Glass Productions is quite affordable. Once you can discuss what you need for your wedding film, they will also be able to provide you with an exact quote.
Moreover, if your wedding happens to be outside Portland, they can also travel but you should be the one to shoulder the travel expenses.
Another thing we think should be mentioned is you should book them at least 12-14 months in advance to make sure they can accommodate you. But ultimately, you should book as early as possible.
When we talked to some of their clients, we also learned that a few also had things they didn’t like such as the lack of responsiveness during post-production.
This could be because of factors like their lack of manpower. This might have caused them to not be able to give fast responses because they’re busy with editing.
However, we don’t think that this affects the quality of their work and the overall experience with this video production company.
All in all, we still recommend them to anyone looking particularly for a wedding videographer.
2. byDesign Films
|CONTACT DETAILS||+1 800-230-8749|
|OPERATING HOURS||Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM|
Saturday and Sunday Closed
|Years in the business||5/5|
The video production service byDesign started with three best friends who, collectively, have tons of years of experience in photography and cinematography.
Over the years, the company grew and they eventually were able to do their services in most major cities in the United States.
They believe that each wedding is unique, so their packages are quite flexible in the way that it’s customized per client.
We thought it was important to add that they also have a photography service.
This is because most video production services we came across don’t have this option. You have to look for photographers separately.
We think byDesign saves a lot of your time with this.
When we had the chance to chat with some of their clients, a lot mentioned that byDesign was quite responsive.
The clients liked how this video production company communicated well with them and gave short intervals when it came to getting back to them.
We think this is one of the most important things because this also helps with getting the output that they originally envision.
They also mentioned that the videographers are great at directing.
Most of them didn’t have any experience with posing in front of the camera, so they felt awkward at first. Some even said they didn’t have any idea what to do.
That’s why they were grateful that byDesign’s videographers and photographers gave them directions that enabled them to act more naturally during the shoot.
While we heard a lot of good things, there were also some complaints from the clients.
A few mentioned that the turnaround time was pretty slow to the point where it didn’t even reach the agreed deadline.
byDesign’s service is also quite pricier than most, so we thought this was also important to note when you’re considering what video company will work best for you.
Overall, we were still impressed by the quality of the output byDesign provides as well as the technical expertise of their staff.
3. Bridge City Media | Business Video Production
|ADDRESS||721 NW 9th Ave #280, Portland, OR|
|CONTACT DETAILS||+1 360-334-5589|
|OPERATING HOURS||Monday – Friday 9AM – 5PM|
Saturday and Sunday
|Years in the business||4/5|
We reached out to some of Bridge City Media’s past clients to see what they had to say about this video production company.
Before we lay out all the information we’ve collected, we think it’s important to mention that everyone we talked to was quite pleased and satisfied.
No one had anything negative that could affect them not hiring Bridge City Media again for their videography needs.
Most of the clients were impressed with how good the videographers are at communicating. They said that their visions easily came to life because it was easy to collaborate with the staff.
A few also mentioned that the videographers give great suggestions to make the project much better while also incorporating the client’s original ideas.
Not only are the videographers great at thinking of concepts, but they also try to think of fresh ideas for a more unique touch to the project.
Moreover, they were also able to meet the deadlines, which makes the process much smoother.
They also don’t exceed the budget, so you don’t have to worry about going through the frustration of receiving an incorrect quote.
There is, however, something we think is worth considering. If you’re someone who’s looking for a videographer for personal needs, they might not be the best option for you.
While not exactly a bad thing, they only cater to businesses and nonprofits. So if you’re looking through this list with a wedding or a birthday in mind, it’s best to read on and seek other options.
However, if you require a videographer for your brand, Bridge City Media is truly worth considering.
4. Lovebug Pictures
|ADDRESS||3325 NE Couch St, Portland, OR|
|CONTACT DETAILS||+1 503-260-3544|
|OPERATING HOURS||Monday – Friday 9AM – 5:30PM|
Saturday & Sunday
|Years in the business||4.5/5|
One of the reasons why we took an interest in Lovebug Pictures is because of the unique aesthetics you can see with the projects they’ve worked with.
Lauren, the person behind this video production service, has a documentary filmmaking background from having graduated from film school.
We think this is why she’s great at focusing on intimate projects and making them more personalized for each client.
Lauren also has a great social media presence for her work.
We think this is a good thing because you can easily see what kind of aesthetic she works with, so you can easily decide whether you want to consider her or not.
When we saw her work, we thought it gave a feeling of nostalgia and warmth.
We think this is why when we went out to have a chat with some of her past clients, most of them mentioned how working with Lauren felt like a personal connection.
This is because Lauren works closely with her clients to get a more in-depth understanding of what they like. This ensures that they will like the output she creates.
It was also collaborative so the clients could also pitch in what they wanted. Lauren will then do her best to translate it while giving it her personal artistic touches.
All the clients we talked to loved working with her for different reasons, but it was mostly because of her vision and artistry.
Being able to witness her work, we can see exactly why.
However, we think it’s also important to mention some things worth considering. Her turnaround time is a bit slower than most videographers.
So if you’re looking for something done the soonest, you might have to check other videographers out instead.
Also, she only does wedding videography, so she might not cater to everyone’s needs.
5. Natalie Broders: Birth Photography
|ADDRESS||820 N River St Loft 206, Portland, OR|
|CONTACT DETAILS||+1 503-389-0620|
|OPERATING HOURS||Open 24 hours|
|Years in the business||5/5|
Natalie Broders captures the raw emotions that are present during live birth. This is what first came to mind when we saw her work.
We think that this is one of the reasons why a lot of clients like her and why most of them plan on hiring her again.
Natalie also knows the importance of having your child’s birth documented by a professional.
This is because the birth of her child, while documented, wasn’t done by a professional.
She wishes she could’ve had someone capture that special moment, so you can be assured that she can empathize with what you want.
She’s also a photographer, videographer, and doula. You can opt for both the video and photo options because she can do those simultaneously.
However, she recommends choosing the video for the moment of the birth because she can easily pull reels from them.
This way, you can also ensure that every important second will be captured.
Since the exact time and date of your child’s birth could be unpredictable, Natalie is on call.
She can go to you even in the wee hours of the night if you call her up and say you’re about to give birth.
She can make sure that she will be there to document this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
A lot of clients also loved how easy it was to work with her. This is mostly because she’s easy to get along with.
We think this is because she’s confident in what she does and she has several hands-on experiences that make her great at dealing with different clients.
If you want to book Natalia, however, she only has limited slots per month so we think it’s important to check in as early as possible.
But overall, if you’re looking for someone to trust with documenting the magical experience of birthing a child, you can easily schedule a call with her on her website.
