Serving sizes also don’t disappoint. The burgers are huge, so you are sure to get what you pay for.

Killer Burgers are said to be a top competitor for the best burgers in Portland. 

Everything comes down to the juicy patty that’s just the perfect size. You won’t leave this place feeling too full or bloated because the serving sizes, along with the sides and drinks, are just the right proportions.

You may feel like their menu is a little too simple compared to other establishments. There aren’t a lot of options.

Simple, but done well. One thing we do appreciate is that they offer a lettuce-wrapped burger option for those who are on a keto diet.

However, this quality comes with quite a price tag.

A full meal can come up to $20. Some may even say the beer is overpriced. 

It’s worth coming back for more, though, if you ask us.

Service can also be a hit or miss. 

At times, it’s excellent and feels like a real community. Others find themselves waiting and ignored by staff for quite a long time. 

That being said, Killer Burgers isn’t only about Killer Burgers. They have some of the best fries in Portland. 

They don’t just use the same frozen ones nearly every place uses. Their fries are skin-on and perfectly cooked—soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.

If you want an all-around burger meal, Killer Burgers is the place.

Huber’s is a bit different from the other Portland burger places on this list. It’s not primarily a burger establishment but more of a lounge and cafe. 

It also stands out, as it holds the title of Portland’s oldest restaurant. 

Established in 1879, coming here to grab a bite also comes with a dash of history. The decor shows that off too.

Their menu has been tested over time, and of course, this includes their burgers. The classic hamburger is a 1/3-lb. 100% ground beef served with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, olives, and a side of french fries, so you don’t have to order the sides separately.

You can have it as a cheeseburger too or black and bleu with bacon.

They also serve what they call the Beast Burger for a heftier price, but the 1/2-lb. patty made of all-natural ground elk, Wagyu, wild boar, and bison justifies it. 

It comes with the same accompaniments as their classic burger but with mayonnaise, and you have the option to add cheese as well.

That’s as far as their burger options go. There may not be a lot, but you also have the rest of their widely loved menu to choose from. 

If you’re expecting more beyond your traditional American cuisine, you may want to check other places.

Super Deluxe sounds exactly like its name. 

It’s fast food but luxury, so it can be quite pricey, but the quality can hold up to it. It’s more expensive than your standard fast food burger, but it’s cheaper than other household names for Portland burgers.

They keep their menu small, which helps them maintain consistency in the quality of their burgers. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. 

We love that the menu is straightforward and simple.

People can be divided on whether a burger patty should be thick and juicy or thin but flavorful, and Super Deluxe leans towards the latter. Many diners take patty size into consideration when choosing a place to get a burger.

Other than their burgers, their chicken nuggets are also worth trying. Fans of the establishment also love their crinkle-cut fries.

Portland is well-known for its commitment to the quality of ingredients, and Super Deluxe is no exemption. Their meats and eggs are sustainable and locally sourced from animals raised in all-natural means.

If you want to enjoy a good burger without getting out of your car, Super Deluxe is the place to go. 

They’re known for their convenient drive-thru service, which can get a bit busy. The lines tend to get long, as they only have a few locations.

Is a slider a burger? 

Some might say no, but we would agree that PDX Sliders serves the best sliders in all of Portland. National Geographic even named them the fourth best burger in all of America.

If you’re not sure what to get, the staff will be happy to help you pick different sliders.

The beef patty stands out regardless of the toppings, which is the top criterion for what makes a good burger. You can also find sliders with other proteins and fillings such as pork and chicken.

Despite the name, PDX Sliders offers the option for you to go for a full-sized burger. Choose that if you’re looking for a full meal, or stick with the smaller sliders if you want to try many different flavors.

Each order comes with a hefty serving of fries good for two people. We also love their truffle fries as well as their numerous options for loaded fries.

You may want to have your experience on location. 

A lot of people noted problems with their online delivery orders, with missing items or their food arriving cold. PDX Sliders may be best enjoyed fresh out of the kitchen.

Due to the pandemic, there’s been a significant jump in prices which others find a bit too much. Most would say the taste is worth it.
