Fana Beauty and Skin is a cut above basic exfoliation thanks to their fusion of classic techniques with LED therapy and ice globe massages. 

I appreciated that LED light therapy and the ice globe facial massage were included in the service, rather than being sold as extras. The cooling massage alone instantly eased the tightness I experienced after exfoliation. 

Their microdermabrasion process begins with a double cleanse and steam to prepare the skin. 

But what impressed me was how the esthetician took time to explain each step. She tailored the pressure and products to my sun-damaged cheeks without assuming my skin could handle a one-size-fits-all approach. 

One of their clients, a woman in her 40s with acne scarring, raved about the visible smoothing of her skin. What she liked even more was that all of these occurred without redness or peeling. 

Another customer loved the hydrojelly mask add-on. It’s cool, cushiony, and infused with hydration for that perfect post-treatment glow.  

However, the studio’s tucked-away location had me circling twice.

Laser Skin Solutions kicks things off with a diamond-tip exfoliation that’s gentle but gets the job done. A client with sun damage told me it felt like hitting reset on their skin.

Every before-and-after I’ve seen shows skin that’s brighter and actually looks refreshed. There was no post-facial fatigue in sight. 

During a patron’s session, the esthetician paused after the double cleanse to ask if they wanted high-frequency therapy or UV light. The customer told me she liked that the esthetician was upfront about the high-frequency therapy having tingling effects.

Her cheeks remained a little warm for about an hour, which was fine for her but perhaps not ideal for those with sensitive skin.

That said, I like that Laser Skin Solutions includes a lymphatic drainage massage—it’s a real tension-buster and helps smooth out a puffy jawline. 

Plus, after all the exfoliation, they take their time layering on serums and creams. They also don’t let customers leave without SPF. Their focus on prevention is clear.

Harley True’s microdermabrasion is the real deal for anyone tired of flashy promises. The diamond-tip exfoliation isn’t new, but Harley makes it feel fresh by actually tailoring the aftercare to your skin—no one-size-fits-all advice. 

He skips the crystal methods that can scratch up your face, and he’s not a fan of hydrafacials that pile on chemicals while your skin’s still raw. Instead, it’s simple: gentle exfoliation, then serums that actually do something. 

One client with stubborn keratosis pilaris told me that after two sessions, her moisturizer finally absorbed instead of just sitting on the surface. 

During my visit, Harley kept things light with jokes while he adjusted the vacuum so my cheeks (which flush easily) didn’t get overworked. He explained every step, including how the lymphatic massage at the end isn’t just for show—it actually helps with puffiness. 

What really stood out was his follow-up. His regular customers love that he gives them skincare suggestions and checks in a few days later to see if their skin is feeling fine.

The diamond-tip exfoliation is gentle, yet it still manages to buff away years of dullness and reduce the appearance of sunspots. 

In all the before-and-afters I’ve seen, people leave with smoother, fresher skin. There were no raw patches visible.

One customer I spoke to mentioned that the highlight for her is Rachel’s steady, rhythmic kneading massage. This helped her tough skin soften. 

Another person shared that Rachel’s hydrogel mask, loaded with ceramides, left them with plump skin for days. 

I like her add-on of microneedling. From what I’ve seen, it helps ease forehead lines after just one session. 

I also think it’s neat that Rachel stocks some personalized high-end skincare, though she doesn’t sell her personalized skincare online. Customers who want it have to ask her before they leave the salon.

Debra Krueger Skin Studio elevates microdermabrasion by incorporating holistic elements into every step. 

The somatic therapy was a nice surprise. Warm, lavender-scented towels eased the tension in my jaw, and the therapist led me through some simple breathwork before moving on to the refreshing LIGHT cellular treatment. 

I also think it’s neat that the studio uses clean, animal-cruelty-free products that feel good on the skin. I’d be honest, though: the price is steep. 

That said, their diamond-tip exfoliation isn’t just about scrubbing off dead skin. It’s paired with careful lymphatic drainage. One of their clients (who had sun-damaged cheeks) called it a workout for the face, minus the sweat. 

During my visit, I appreciated how the esthetician adjusted the pressure and explained that lighter passes help boost collagen without causing irritation.

Still, my cheeks were pink for a couple of hours after, even with the cooling gel they use at the end. Those who have sensitive skin will want to plan for some downtime.

She’s clearly knowledgeable about skin, without being condescending or making one feel bad about oneself, which I feel is unfortunately common when getting a facial. I had never experienced an gua sha treatment and not only was it amazingly relaxing, I saw instant results. My face looked more sculpted and the bags under my eyes were noticeably lessened.
