1. Dr. Stephanie Nani, D.O.

Website: https://doctornani.com/
Address: Suite #245, 2nd Floor, 15160 NW Laidlaw Rd #245
Contact: 503-477-5180
Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Dr. Stephanie Nani brings a deeply traditional approach to osteopathy. She has practiced since 1996 and has eight years of specialized one-on-one training from primary teachers in the field, allowing her to treat complex, hard-to-manage conditions.
You really get a sense of her expertise since she specializes in various modalities, like manual medicine and nutrient IV therapy for acute and chronic conditions. Dr. Nani also uses homeopathic injectable remedies to control pain and reduce inflammation.
More importantly, she actively coordinates care with outside medical providers for highly resistant cases, ensuring patients receive a comprehensive approach without removing medical expertise when needed.
A minor downside is her clinic availability, which is only four days a week, so she’s not the most accessible for busy individuals.

A night and day difference: Finding relief from chronic pain
Dr Nani is Amazing!! When I first started seeing her 3 years ago, I suffered from chronic neck pain causing debilitating daily headaches. I also had back pain and GI issues. I was barely functioning much less enjoying any kind of quality of life. I had been to multiple doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors and it wasn’t until I started treatment with Dr Nani that I started feeling better. Much better! Night and day difference better! It was a slow process, but each month that passed, I felt better and better.

Miraculous hands-on treatment for neck and back discomfort
On the recommendation of my regular chiropractor, I started seeing Dr. Nani 5 months ago for an acute neck issue that radiated into the sub-cranial area and was causing cervical inflexibility and a lot of discomfort. Her miraculous hands-on treatments and procaine injections have helped change the daily comfort and flexibility levels in my neck and now I’m getting help with the long-term issue of a very fragile lower back. I’m intrigued to explore other treatments she offers to assist in regenerating other parts of my physical and mental vitality. Thanks, Dr. Nani !

2. Insight Osteopathic Medicine

Website: https://www.insightmedicine.com/
Address: 7910 NE Failing St
Contact: 503-491-5555
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Insight Osteopathic Medicine is one of our picks because they specialize in treating newborns. They use extremely gentle techniques to release restrictions developed during birth, ensuring proper feeding and physical development.
On top of that, they treat complex children’s developmental issues like autism and torticollis.
They also offer targeted treatments for adults. In particular, pregnant mothers can visit to balance their nervous system and prepare their body for labor, and motor vehicle accident victims can go for rehabilitative care.
But here’s the thing: while you can use your Med-Advantage plan, they don’t accept Medicaid or Medicare. This makes them a strong option only if your current insurance aligns.

Finally finding relief after 12 years of chronic pain
I started seeing Dr. Sacon after over 12 years of chronic pain from an injury. No other care (chiropractic, etc.) helped. Once I finally found Dr. Sacon, slowly my muscles and bones have started moving back to where they’re supposed to be and my pain has significantly improved. Words can’t describe the relief this care has provided.

Pain-free after a work injury: The best decision I ever made
Seeing Dr. Sacon for my mid-back pain, from a work injury, was the best decision I ever made! After spending 4 months doing physical therapy and chiropractor sessions, I had this constant pain in my back that forced me to spend most of my days seating down. But, as soon as my first visit with Dr. Sacon, I was feeling better. With her help, and Dr. Puziss, I have made real progress and spend most of my day pain free!
I definitively recommend Dr. Sacon to anyone who is looking for a highly qualify osteopath with a personal touch.

3. Osteopathic PDX

Website: http://osteopathicpdx.com/
Address: 4039 N. Mississippi Suite #203
Contact: 503-412-2392
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Osteopathic PDX is led by Greg Esmer, D. O., who is board-certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine. Their focus on OMM to restore joint mobility is notable.
They even incorporate cranial osteopathy and targeted injection therapies for non-surgical pain management. They also offer a fantastic alternative to traditional physical therapy by integrating meditation and gentle yoga directly into treatment plans.
Another reason why this clinic stands out is for operating as a low-overhead micro-practice using automated check-ins. This setup means you can enjoy a more private experience without long waits and crowded reception areas.
Plus, since front desk wait times are eliminated, the physician can spend longer, unhurried visits working directly with patients.
However, this clinic operates strictly as a specialty practice since their osteopath doesn’t offer primary care services anymore.
It’s also worth noting that they rarely prescribe narcotics for pain management.
4. Center for Osteopathic Insight, LLC

Website: http://www.osteopathicinsight.com/
Address: 415 N Killingsworth Ave # 101
Contact: 503-512-6200
Hours:
- Monday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Thursday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
The Center for Osteopathic Insight, LLC offers a wide range of services, with their primary provider being an osteopath, osteopathic physician, and healer.
They provide OMM targeted to manage mild traumatic brain injuries and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) issues.
It’s also fantastic that they offer osteopathically derived eyeglass prescriptions, which is a specialized vision assessment and treatment approach from an osteopathic perspective.
The clinic also delivers specialized pediatric care for birth injuries and developmental concerns, making them available for both children and adults.
We love how they’re quite generous with their one-hour initial appointments, making space for comprehensive, unhurried hands-on treatments.
A notable downside is that they operate without administrative staff during check-in. This means you need to arrive early to handle copay payments yourself.
5. Joan Takacs, DO – Takacs Clinic

Website: http://www.anthroclinic.com/
Address: 5909 SE Division St
Contact: 503-234-1531
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Joan Takacs is board-certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and anthroposophical medicine, seamlessly combining conventional practices with a holistic philosophy.
She carries a uniquely deep osteopathic lineage, as her grandfather studied directly under the founder of Osteopathy. Her father also studied under the developer of Cranial Osteopathy.
As for her treatment plans, she uses advanced diagnostic technology like electromyography and ultrasound to pinpoint nerve damage. Plus, she incorporates Spacial Dynamics Movement Therapy (SDMT) to offer alternative ways to heal.
You might also appreciate her specialized focus on musculoskeletal pain associated with workers’ compensation and motor vehicle accidents.
But keep in mind that scheduling can be tricky, as her clinic closes at noon on Fridays and remains closed on weekends.

Near complete relief for stubborn lower back pain
Both my partner and I have seen Dr Joan for lower back pain. My partner had seen several MDs and even had back surgery to try to resolve the pain prior to finding Dr Joan. Every time we have seen Dr. Joan we have left the office with near complete relief. Dr. Joan has always treated us in a kind, courteous, and professional manner. We are so grateful that we discovered this excellent provider.

A wise doctor who actually cares about your injury
I’ve been to chiropractic, acupuncture, occupational medicine, x-rays, and John Takacs was the first doctor I’ve met through my ordeal who seemed to actually know something about the human body. Save perhaps for the acupuncturist. Most of these people were going through the motions of their work, never actually giving a damn about my injury. John Takacs gave a damn, and is very wise. Perhaps he is the best doctor I’ve met in my life. Save for this shrink I had as a teen.
