Norah is a dazzling newcomer to Portland’s vegan scene, where Pan-Asian flair meets culinary innovation.

Both their Coconut Mushroom Linguine and the Spicy Holy Basil stood out for us with their vibrant flavors and creative presentation. The basil claims to be holy, but it definitely delivers a bold flavor!

The vibe at Norah? Think cozy meets chic, making it a pleasant place to dine.

Norah also features a small, seasonal menu that changes regularly. This keeps us on our toes with fresh surprises every visit.  Who said veganism couldn’t be thrilling?

Sure, Norah’s prices won’t empty your wallet, but the serving sizes could be more generous.

Pros

  • Pan-Asian flavors
  • Cozy ambiance
  • Offers seasonal menu
  • Reasonable prices

Cons

  • Small portion sizes

Must-try dishes, cozy space

“You absolutely must try Norah. I’m so picky about my top vegan restaurants and they just shot to the top of the list. I’ve had so many coworkers and friends recommend Norah – I DEFINITELY should have tried it a lot earlier! Very cozy and busy space.”

Incredible flavors, warm and welcoming place, eating and experiencing art

“This place is incredible!! The food played with incredible flavors that are complex and not just one note. We had leftovers that we had cold next day and it was still amazing. The place felt warm, welcoming and the values reflected in the food. I felt like I was eating and experiencing art.”

Virtuous Pie has stormed onto the scene with a menu that’s as innovative as it is mouthwatering, all while championing sustainability.

Our absolute must-try is The Stranger Wings pizza—imagine tangy buffalo cauliflower paired with a creamy cashew sauce. And don’t sleep on their house-made ice cream because you’ll swear it can’t be vegan!

Their location also oozes with charm. The communal-style picnic tables create a laid-back vibe The abundance of indoor plants and natural light give the space a cozy and inviting feel.

Considering the top-notch quality, the prices here are refreshingly fair, offering exceptional value for every delightful bite.

Plus, they’ve nailed inclusivity with options catering to gluten-free and nut-free diets. This ensures everyone can savor the goodness of their food.

Just a heads up: their vegan offerings come with smaller portion sizes. The salads could also use a bit more dressing as they tend to be dry.

Pros

  • Innovative menu
  • Fresh and charming atmosphere
  • Fair pricing
  • Offers gluten-free and nut-free menu

Cons

  • Small portion sizes
  • Salads could use more dressing

Amazing food, service, and quality for vegan and nonvegans

“I can’t begin to describe the amazing combo of food, service, and quality that this place offers. It’s not just vegan pizza, no, it’s vegan pizza that nonvegans like. The creamiest cheese I have ever had on a thing crust with delicious innovative sauces. If you’re considering going, trust me, take a leap, you’ll thank me later.”

Daily Fuel is a lively vegan restaurant in Portland that aims to please both vegans and non-vegans alike. Their menu features everything from refreshing smoothie bowls to hearty grain bowls.

We couldn’t resist diving into their dishes—each one a vibrant masterpiece on the plate. Personally, their Sweet Heat Bowl was our favorite for its delightful combination of sweet and spicy elements that excited our palates.

Their cheese sauce—let’s just say—had a slightly inconsistent texture. And while the fries had great potential, they occasionally became soggy.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect whether you’re flying solo or rolling deep with your crew. The health-focused decor adds an extra dose of zen to your dining experience. Be prepared, though, as it can get a little crowded during peak hours.

The staff are friendly and attentive, though there tends to be some delays during busy times.

Pros

  • Flavorful menu
  • Vibrant presentation
  • Gluten-free options
  • Chill atmosphere
  • Friendly service

Cons

  • Minor issue in food quality consistency
  • Crowded during peak hours

Delicious menu with a reasonable price

“My favorite spot to go out, hands down. Some of the best food in Portland period – no qualifiers needed.  I have never tried anything on the menu that isn’t delicious and the menu is super reasonably priced.”

Garrett Cogburn, Google review

Great portions, affordable price, amazing taste

“Came here for the reviews, left full of plants! I had the big bowl of potatoes and the dude mac and cheese and I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting. The portions are great for the price and they make plants taste out of this world. Come see this one for yourself!!”

If you’re a vegan in Portland and your taste buds are crying for some Vietnamese goodness, look no further than Van Hanh Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant.

From pho to banh mi, there’s something here for every craving. The portions are generous enough to make even the hungriest vegan do a happy dance. Plus, the prices are wallet-friendly!

The orange chicken is the real MVP here. Its well-executed presentation with its sauce really tastes like a traditional chicken! The chow mein and papaya salad are equally fabulous, making it hard to choose just one favorite.

While our visit has been great, we did experience a long wait during a busy lunch hour. We were left staring longingly at other tables’ delicious dishes.

Pros

  • Delicious vegan options
  • Generous portions
  • Affordable prices
  • Friendly staff

Cons

  • Slow service during peak hours

Convincing and delicious vegan meat

“The food was great!  The vegan “meat” seemed quite convincing, and was delicious.  Even my non-vegan mother liked it.  This will be a regular stop whenever I am in Portland.”

Trent Fisher, Google review

Excellent restaurant, stellar food, and flavorful dishes

“I cannot wait to try everything on this menu. The food was stellar. We shared a bahn mi for an appetizer and I had the lemongrass tofu and my partner had the vegan pork belly. Everything was so flavorful and it’s so cool that it’s also all vegan. I am so excited to go back and try more dishes at this excellent restaurant.”

Blossoming Lotus is a playground for plant-based enthusiasts and adventurous eaters alike. Their menu caters to every craving, from hearty bowls and wraps to crisp salads and refreshing smoothies.

We fell deeply in love with the restaurant’s ambiance! It’s light and airy, adorned with bamboo, and bathed in natural light. It’s the perfect spot to savor every mouthful of your meal.

Service at Blossoming Lotus is a hit too. The staff are not just friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable, ready to guide you through the menu and make sure your dietary needs are met with a smile.

Blossoming Lotus, though, isn’t your bargain basement vegan joint, but the quality of the food makes it worth every penny. It’s a health-conscious dining that doesn’t skimp on flavor—a win-win in our book.

A gentle critique we can mention is about the portion sizes that leave you wanting more. But hey, good things come in small packages, right?

Pros

  • Diverse menu
  • Cozy ambiance
  • Excellent staff service
  • High-quality food

Cons

  • Small portion sizes

Offers dairy-free options

I’m not from here and this was the first vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’m dairy free and usually have to sift through menus to find something I can eat. I am SO glad we came.”
