Yes, their pricing might be on the higher side, but clients rave about how it’s worth every penny. Take note, for events over $8,000, you get a free tasting for up to 4 guests. 

We have managed to select up to three hors d’oeuvres, two salads, two entrées with sides, and two desserts to taste.

We also really appreciate that they kept helping us when we needed to cut costs and coming up with new ideas when we asked for them. Even before the wedding, they gave advice, which I really appreciated!

One of my friends recently had a wedding, and their chosen caterer, Devil’s Food Catering, impressed us with a delightful mix of flavors and beautifully presented dishes.

I started with a savory appetizer that was bursting with flavor, and it only got better from there. Even the vegetarian options were creative and satisfying, which is often a challenge at weddings. 

I also can’t help but praise their menu variety. It includes options like chicken and waffles and macaroni and cheese bars, perfect for children!

One thing that struck me was the collaborative spirit of the catering team. They invite every couple that they work with to pitch their ideas, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. It felt like everyone was working together to make the day special.

As the night went on, I noticed how the staff continued to engage with guests, making sure everyone felt comfortable and well-fed. It was a joy to see how they balanced professionalism with a friendly demeanor.

However, there were a few hiccups: some of our guests had to wait longer than expected for food.

Pearl Catering might have started with a small team and an old van, but they totally deserve a place on this list. They did not just take care of my friend’s wedding’s food; they also took care of the bar service and rentals. 

I had the chance to talk with the bride about them and she raved about Pearl Catering’s customized menus. They offer themed options, like Southern hospitality breakfasts and even casual food truck experiences. 

They also offer everything from buffet-style to plated meals. They even cater to vegan and gluten-free diets.

The fresh and locally sourced ingredients they use also make a huge difference in the quality of the food. It’s clear they put a lot of thought into every dish.

However, my friend said their planning and coordination could use some work. They asked for the kids’ meals to be served first, but the servers were totally unaware when they inquired. It would be better if their staff practiced better communication with each other.

When it comes to wedding catering in Portland, Premiere Catering really knows how to make an impression. That’s what my recently wed co-worker said when I asked her about them. 

Their team listened to their ideas and made the whole planning process feel so easy.

One of their unique services is their on-site cooking option, which she thought might pose a problem for the food, but they proved her wrong. Their dishes were served at their peak flavor and quality, rather than being prepared in advance and transported.

They can handle any event, big or small, and basically anywhere you can think of. Whether you’re planning a chill backyard party or a gorgeous beach wedding, they’ve got the skills to pull it off. She wouldn’t be surprised if they could cater on mountaintops!

She just didn’t like how they refused to reimburse me for a cake they accidentally dropped. Turns out, other clients of theirs experienced the same thing.

I recently had the chance to try out Grand Cru for a friend’s wedding and let me tell you, they absolutely knocked it out of the park. 

First off, their smoked brisket and salmon were the stars of the show—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. They also have some fantastic vegan options.

The service was just as impressive. They were super flexible and managed to handle a few last-minute changes with ease, which took a ton of stress off the bride and groom. It’s such a relief when you find a service that can adapt on the fly like that.

One thing I really appreciated was how they tailored everything to fit the couple’s vision. They didn’t just serve up a standard menu; they worked with the couple to create a dining experience that was totally unique to them. 

And their Bar Cru? Spot on. Whether you wanted a simple beer or a craft cocktail, they had it covered. Plus, you could really tell they put thought into the drink selections.

Some of the guests, though, were disappointed with the portion sizes. Many expressed that they were smaller than expected.
