Multnomah Orthopedic Clinic caught our attention because patients can often secure a same-day appointment for ankle and foot concerns.

We also felt confident with their ankle doctors’ credentials. Dr. Mesnier and Dr. Fischer are both certified orthopedic surgeons with advanced training and surgical expertise to accurately diagnose complex ankle conditions.

The clinic also handles minimally invasive surgery, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and complex sports injury management. This suggests that patients have access to the latest surgical techniques for faster recovery and reduced pain.

From patient feedback, their doctors also have good bedside manner. They explain treatment options clearly, take the time to listen, and make their patient comfortable throughout the process.

The only potential downside is that their clinic can get crowded at times, especially since they also offer other treatments.

Patients who prefer getting everything done in one place will likely appreciate Northwest Extremity Specialists. The clinic stands out for offering extensive podiatry and orthopedic care under a single roof.

This setup means patients can access treatments like surgery, sports medicine, and physical therapy without visiting multiple clinics.

During our review, we found their process to be efficient. Someone we spoke with arrived with ankle pain, received an X-ray on-site, and left with a diagnosis the same day, rather than scheduling another appointment elsewhere.

We also appreciate that the clinic has same-day and urgent care appointments. They have faster scheduling, which is particularly helpful if you want quick relief.

Their podiatrists are also board-certified with years of clinical experience. That gave us confidence that they can handle a range of ankle conditions, including sprains, swelling, and instability, to name a few.

Just one thing to note is that their services can be a bit more expensive than those of other single-practitioner clinics.

Patients who feel overwhelmed with large medical centers may find Barnes Foot and Ankle refreshing. The clinic runs more like a boutique practice, so patients get a more personal approach rather than a clinical one.

Patients who are anxious about ankle care or visiting for the first time also often say the environment feels less intimidating.

Dr. Barnes’ long-standing reputation also added credibility during our review. He’s been helping patients recover from ankle concerns for 24 years, and that speaks a lot about his skills as a surgeon and podiatric specialist.

Patients we spoke with also praised his positive attitude. Many described him as very approachable and said they felt he was genuinely engaged while discussing ankle mechanics and movement.

We also appreciate that he comes well-prepared. A patient noted that Dr. Barnes had already reviewed imaging before the consultation and had even coordinated with his radiologist. 

However, please note that Dr. Barnes has a very strict cancellation policy. Missed or late cancellations can lead to charges.

MT Tabor Podiatry stood out to us for focusing on something very important: making sure patients actually understand their ankle condition before moving forward with treatment.

They take their time to explain the diagnosis, risks, and potential solutions. Many patients reported that this helped them trust their doctor and reconsider whether the suggested treatment was what they preferred.

The clinic is led by Dr. Chris Seuferling, who has strong credentials. He’s board-certified in the U.S. and has completed residency and surgical training in foot and ankle care.

We also love the convenience MT Tabor Podiatry offers, with on-site X-rays and digital imaging. Patients also report that scheduling appointments is relatively easy.

Their staff contributes to the overall experience as well. Patients we spoke with often mention how welcoming the team is and how they kept the clinic visit smooth and comfortable.

However, keep in mind that it’s a podiatry clinic. Extremely complex ankle reconstruction cases may require the attention of a different orthopedic specialist in Portland.

Sellwood Podiatry first came to our attention through a strong word-of-mouth recommendation. Several locals mentioned the clinic as a place where the doctor genuinely takes the time to listen and explain ankle concerns.

The clinic also provides comprehensive services. These include treatments for ankle sprains, Achilles issues, and heel pain. Dr. Myers also treats children with foot and ankle concerns.

Many parents we spoke with particularly appreciated how patient Dr. Myers is. They described the consultations as calm, with treatment options being explained clearly to both the patient and the child.

Aside from that, we also appreciate that Sellwood offers telehealth consultations. This is very helpful for patients who need follow-ups or initial consultations but find it hard to make it to the clinic.

There are a couple of limitations to keep in mind, though. Because the clinic is smaller, appointment slots may fill up quickly. Their accepted insurance providers are also somewhat limited compared to larger practices.
