The Portland Saturday Market was established in 1974 and is one of the largest and regularly operating flea markets in the US. It’s located in Portland’s historic Old Town.

We love that this flea market runs for blocks along the Columbia River, making it an enjoyable stroll with families, friends, or a significant other.

The Portland Saturday Market is well-structured, tidy, and clean. You can also find porta potties on-site for your convenience.

The market features over 150 unique vendors who are real craftsmen.

In fact, there’s an unwritten rule that requires vendors to prove that they make what they sell and that their products aren’t simply repackaged and rebranded.

While a huge chunk of the vendors offers standard fare you can find in any other market, there are certainly standouts with unusual offerings you can’t miss.

Many of these artists also sell their goods on Etsy if you feel the need to buy from them online.

The items include things like jewelry, unique Portland-themed clothing items, locally made clothing, and food items.

There is a good range of mobile food vendors spread across the area as well as fresh, inexpensive fruit and produce.

Not only that but there are also musicians providing entertainment on small stages throughout the flea market, so you wouldn’t get bored.

Keep in mind that some vendors don’t take cards. This can be inconvenient if you’re used to cashless payment, so remember to have some cash on hand.

Compared to the Portland Saturday Market, the Portland Night Market is considered “less crafty.” There are still many excellent local vendors selling their crafts, but you’ll find more food and beverages.

In fact, some would describe the Night Market as a flea market and a street food park in one.

If you’re into artisan or specialty snacks, this is the place to go. There are a lot of fun samples you can try as you explore the flea market. 

There are many gluten-free food and dessert options as well as vegan and vegetarian items.

If you’re of the legal drinking age, they can provide bracelets, so you don’t need an ID check at every stall. With these over-21 tags, you gain access to artisan and craft beers, liquors, wines, and spirits.

Is this still a family-friendly affair? Yes. Teenagers will also enjoy the stalls with crafty items available on display.

With the popularity of this flea market, it can also get crowded and lines can get really long. If you’re worried about your health and safety, take precautions.

Some would describe their experience at La Pulga Fantastica by saying it’s as if you crossed the border and walked right into Mexico.

Here, you can find authentic Mexican food and items imported from Mexico.

There are many items you’d find at your typical Hispanic flea market such as clothes, blankets, jewelry, perfume, shoes, music, instruments, CDs, DVDs, cheap electronics, and even used items in good condition.

Compared to other flea markets, you can’t really find as many crafts or secondhand, vintage items here.

We found that many of the booths sell the same items, especially those affordable imported essentials.

However, you’ll never know when you’ll find something unique to buy. If you know your way around, you can find hidden treasures.

It’s a great experience to enjoy with either family or friends. The food is delicious and authentic, and there’s also a bar where you can drink and relax with your favorite people.

Visitors seem to consistently have a great time at La Pulga Fantastica, so it’s expected that it can get pretty packed on weekends.

On Saturday and Sunday evenings, they usually have live Mexican bands playing music. We love how this adds to the lively atmosphere of this amazing flea market.

The Oregon Flea Market is a smaller flea market compared to others on this list. Still, it’s a great place to just have fun walking around and exploring your options.

Stalls typically sell clothes, old and new, making them comparable to garment markets in other states. You can find hidden gems if you really look closely!

There are many awesome secondhand options in a handful of the stalls.

Other items you can find here include religious items, rugs, speakers, toys, and trinkets. 

You might find that many of the stalls just sell the same stock. This place isn’t as crafty as other flea markets on this list.

It can also be a bit hard to browse since not all vendors put prices on all of their products.

We also don’t appreciate that when you go here at opening hours, most stores aren’t open yet, and you’d have to wait a bit to fully enjoy the flea market.

If you’re into K-pop or anime, you might be delightfully surprised at the amount of related merchandise being sold at the stalls here.

Visitors love the Oregon Flea Market as a place to buy fresh fruit and produce at affordable prices.

You can also find many stalls selling delicious, freshly made food and good drinks.

M&M is all about supporting entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for livelihood, community, and entertainment in Hillsboro.

With the range of items available in M&M, you can find pretty much anything you need in your daily life.

The market also has its own full-service automotive shop, allowing them to host their own car shows.

They also have a futsal or indoor soccer program, creating healthy opportunities for recreation.

They also host the El Sol Festival to promote cultural exchange by featuring dance and music from all around the globe.

They’re open every weekend, all year round, from Fridays to Saturdays.

You can enjoy browsing through the marketplace and have lots of fun with all the activities and live music. 

There is a wide selection of vendors and many interesting finds, so you’ll never really get bored.

The atmosphere reminds people of Mexico, especially with the delicious, authentic Mexican food being sold there.

The area is rather small, so you may find it a bit crowded. The place is quieter in the mornings and livelier in the afternoons til night.

Visitors also note that items can be more expensive than what you’d usually find at a flea market.
